This is such a great place! I kind of hate to let other people know about it, because Atlanta doesn't have many really good bagel shops and I want to keep it to myself! (Einstein's is usually good, but they aren't always consistent, there aren't many of them outside Atlanta proper, and they seem to fall apart when they get busy.) The Bagel Meister doesn't have any of those problems.
Their bagels (and various breads) are made in house from scratch, as are the cream cheeses. They are always good, always consistent - no matter who is working or when we visit.
They make excellent breakfast sandwiches, or you can just get a bagel and enjoy the simplicity. ;)
They have more lunch-like food available as well. Their hot dogs rolled in some kind of bread (sorry, I can't think of the name!) is a favorite of my husband.
Their drip coffee is top notch: even the flavored ones are good (and you don't get that chemical aftertaste common to so many flavored coffees).
Even when the line is out the door and the tables are all full, your food is still finished in a reasonable amount of time (understanding that there are people ahead of you), and it's still hot and fresh when you get it. By then you usually have a table, too.
The people are very friendly, and willing to do all sorts of crazy things customers ask in the name of customization.
My only complaint is the parking lot, since they share it with other stores and there are stores in front of them with lots of traffic of their own. Sometimes it's hard to get into the parking lot and sometimes it's hard to find a place to park. There's a big lot for overflow, but it's a bit distant...
Read moreStopped in for the first time today. Place was clean, decent menu and prices, and the staff was friendly. Ordered a dozen and the two tub cream cheese deal. The bagels were fresh and care was used in making them. However, even with the two “tubs” of cream cheese is not enough to cover a dozen bagels. I toasted two bagels and just using merely adequate amount of cream cheese on both, the one tub is now less than half full. They whip their cream cheese, which makes it easier to spread, because it’s basically air whipped, making double the volume, but less actual cream cheese. If that’s your thing, you are set. I like my cream cheese heavy and thick, in it’s original form. You use less in it’s original form, even if you like it thick. Buy some Philly cream cheese from your grocery store if you prefer it to be original style and get more for your money. I also purchased veggie cream cheese, also whipped, and not impressed. Large slices of shredded carrots and very little anything else. The bagels themselves were that of an Einstein Bagel. They are soft and great for a sandwich. I’m a pinch, I would go again, and maybe buy a sandwich. I would go to Dunkin’ if I wanted to get another dozen. I personally think they are closer in texture, consistency, and flavor of original bagels. If you are looking for NY bagels, or anything close,...
Read moreThe staff were friendly enough and knowledgeable about the menu items. The bagels just did not do it for me. The get the dough and bake it off in the mornings. I ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese, red onion, tomato, capers and nova lox. I was told it would be served like an open face sandwich. They slice the bagel in half and each side gets all of the toppings. The positive is the portion size for the price is comparable. The negative is it’s one of the worst bagels I’ve ever had. The red onion was not sliced thinly, it was roughly chopped and looked like it was dumped in the center of the bagel on the cream cheese. The two slices of tomato were so small they resembled silver dollars in size. The capers also looked like they were smushed into the cream cheese. The nova lox was at the very top and was sooooo thick. Definitely not sliced per order but out of a pre sliced package you’d get from your local grocer. The ingredient order was off and I had to throw away half of the bagel, the quality is not what I expected. There is an oversized black and white picture that made me assume it was going to be a bagel like you’d get in New York. I would not recommend this place. I wouldn’t even give them a try for any deli sandwich based on the quality of...
