Recently, I took my daughter to Waffle House for her birthday breakfast. She chose Waffle House over Dunkin' Donuts because she loves their bacon and egg breakfast sandwich, hot off the grill. However, our experience was not as pleasant as we had hoped.
I initially tried to place a to-go order by calling the restaurant at 6:10 am, but there was no answer. Wanting to ensure my daughter got her desired birthday breakfast, I decided to drive to the location. To my surprise, I found an empty lot with two employees inside, seemingly preoccupied with their phones. This immediately soured the experience.
As I entered the restaurant, I inquired about the lack of response to my phone call, which may have unintentionally set a negative tone. The service from that point onward was disappointing. The clerk who rang me up seemed disinterested and informed me I would need to retrieve my own receipt from his till. Moreover, when I requested condiments, both employees completely ignored my request and refused to hand me anything.
To make matters worse, as I took photos for my Yelp review, I noticed the employees whispering amongst themselves. The young lady even attempted to take a picture of my license plate as I drove off the lot, which left me feeling puzzled and uncomfortable.
Although the breakfast sandwich itself was satisfactory, the lack of customer service skills displayed by the employees was disheartening. It was by far the strangest experience I've had at a Waffle House. I believe that a refresher course on customer service is much needed for these employees.
I hope that Waffle House management takes my feedback seriously and addresses the issues we encountered. As a customer, I believe that excellent service is just as important as the quality of the food. Waffle House has the potential to provide a great dining experience, but improvements are necessary to ensure customers feel valued and...
Read moreAs a first time visit, they really left a great impression on me. We arrived after 2:30 am so I pre-prepared to wait for service, but boy was I wrong. I walked right up to the ordering counter, since a server greeted us and waved us on over upon entering. There was a couple being handed their takeout order as we began giving ours. Our server, Jay, correctly repeated the order before pushing it off. We waited in the car to give more space to the others arriving customers. When I returned, the meals were waiting and packed. Everything we were given was what we ordered. I say this because MANY restaurants refuse to "get it right" in this arena (Often I'm leaving with items I did not order and missing my items. As a vegetarian, it sucks). The food was thoroughly cooked just like we ordered. I'll be returning! Great job hiring/retaining those young, efficient workers in the midst of a hiring strain. Please tip our...
Read moreI went to get some takeout about 930 at night on a Friday. It wasn't busy but steady. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. I always time how long it takes to get helped at restaurants. Since I have been to this location multiple times I never had any complaints. It took the older waitress 33 seconds to help me. The time before this was about the same. I sat in my car and was told I can come back in 10 minutes and guess what? My food was completed in probably 8 mins because it was packed and waiting for me to pick it up. Btw I ordered 3 full meals with a lot of itemizes. The food was so fresh and hot. Cooked to perfection 🥰 The only downside is you can not order online at this location and you can't get delivery at any waffle house...
