I went to Prom USA for my first ever dress appointment looking for a wedding dress. The service was minimal and the entire appointment felt awkward and impersonal. Julie, our sales rep, spent only about a minute asking us questions before starting to pick out dresses. Myself, my mom and my mother in law pulled several dresses both sized up and sized down because Julie said sheâd be able to clip them to see what they would look like. She did that for about the first two dresses then started saying she would hold the back as I got out to see it (she never did) so I was holding up the top of every dress and could barely tell what they were supposed to look like on me. We asked for her suggestions multiple times and she only pulled 1 maybe 2 dresses but did not say much in terms of guidance on what we were looking for. The only time she really spoke up was when she walked away for a moment and said âsorry, was just checking to see how much time we had left!â.
The website says they have dresses up to size 26, Iâm a size 18 and our associate couldnât seem to find a single dress that I would fit in (or if I did I wouldnât know because she never fully closed a dress). The experience was degrading and upsetting.
I went back and forth on if I wanted to leave a review but I spent time going through reviews to see how the service was for bridal appointments before scheduling any appointments. Wedding dress shopping was not something I was looking forward to but people kept telling me âitâll be fun, itâs a special moment and youâll be glad you did it!â. So I write this to other women who may feel like I do about wedding dress shopping, Prom USA (for me at least) is not the place to make you feel special at all during...
Read moreI rarely leave reviews but after my overall experience, I felt it was necessary. I brought my daughter here in search of a dress for her 8th grade prom. The theme was Met Gala so we wanted something unique and nice. The dresses are nice but I have to agree with the others, they are overpriced. The customer service experience when trying on dresses was great! We went twice and my daughter decided on this one dress she fell in love with during the first visit. It was double what I was planning to spend but my husband said go ahead and put it on layaway. I did know that there was a policy which states dresses are non-refundable and no store credits. Well 2 weeks later the US gets hit with a global pandemic. Of course, nothing any of us could have ever foreseen happening. Eventually, businesses close including this store and even schools close for the remainder of the year therefore all events including prom are Cancelled! So I contact Prom USA to see how they are handling things in light of COVID-19. To my surprise I was told that my only option was to pay the remaining $417 for a dress that my daughter can no longer use or lose the $208 I had already put down. Of course I wasnât expecting a refund but at the very least would have thought an exception could be made at their discretion and a store credit could be applied. To think of how many people have lost their jobs and some even have lost loved ones. Some of these girls were planning to attend their senior prom and likely have paid hundreds down đ itâs really sad and the lack of compassion and understanding was by far...
Read moreThis is the last place on earth I would want to go and shop at!! I went to look for a wedding dress and the first time I went none of the sales associate wanted to help me with a dress just directed me in the direction of my size and left. So me being considered saying ok this is around prom season so let me leave and come back at a later time. Ok so doing just that I went again on a Sunday while it was kind of slow not really many people there. I received the exact same service I ask one of the sale rep if I could try on a dress that caught my eye. She pulled the dress down took it to the dressing room and told me she would be waiting outside of the curtain so that she could assist me in zipping up my dress.Once I had the dress on I opened the curtains and there to my surprise she was nowhere to be found. Then another sale person came (looking at me as if Iâm in the wrong place.)So I then proceed to ask and describe to her the sales associate that was helping me and ask if she was around. Not even trying to find out who she was says to me âIâm not sure but I will hang the dress back on the hanger if your done âwell hey at this point I am. I got my things and left.. That isnât good customer...
