Tucked away in the outskirts of Dover near the Air Force Base lies an up and coming Restaurant with a BIG devotion to Flavor and Service. El Folklore De Mexico has brought TRULY authentic Mexican Food to an area sorely lacking. From Quesabirria to Horchata this place will satisfy your every craving. The flavor is an authentic reminder of where I grew up in Central California and not too many places in Delaware can remind me of home. The staff are absolutely on top of it when it comes to Customer Service. We had what felt like each member of the staff waiting on us during our visit, at least 3 different people came by checking on us and taking care of our orders. We visited on Mother's Day evening just after 8pm and the staff was nothing but smiles despite the insane dinner rush they dealt with just hours prior. We got lucky with our timing and were one of three tables being tended to. The speed of the food was perfect not to quick behind out appetizer and not painfully slow. The serving size is definitely something to write home about. The Birria Burrito was almost the size of my bicep and as long as my wife's forearm. And it was PACKED with meat and an appropriate amount of beans and rice. Not overfilled with one single ingredient but a perfect combination of everything, and don't get me started on the consommé, absolute perfection even had some bits of meat in it. You also get a salsa verde and salsa rojo that are perfect for either side of spice tolerance, and excellent blend of heat and flavor. Their tortillas seem to be made in house or at the very least a very high quality which only adds to the taste of everything. A true testament to their dedication to quality. Their churros were amazing and it seems like they use Santa Maria strawberries which are without a doubt the best strawberries you can get (might be a little biased on that one but I have yet to find somebody that disagrees once they've tasted one). The horchata comes in a large glass that is the perfect size for how good it tastes. Overall I will 100% be returning multiple times to try the rest of the menu. If you're looking for somewhere to either sit down and experience impeccable customer service or something to pickup and take home to enjoy and not spend an absolute arm and a leg THIS is the place to go.

This place is a true gem! The place was so clean and the food was outstanding. The staff was exceptional ! The portions are more than generous, and you can tell that this small family owned business takes pride in what they serve their customers. The bacon wrapped jalapeños stuffed with cheese ate outstanding! They serve you 5 of these monsters, and my god, they are good! I ordered the EL Folklore burrito, and this thing had to weigh 2lbs of greatness or better. I could not finish all my food and had to take it home with me. That almost never happens, My wife ordered something I can not begin to spell, but it was a recommendation from our server. It was like little street tacos that you dip in the broth that was simply amazing. If you happen to go in and you are unable to decide on your meal, just ask your server, and they are more than happy to help. They will not steer you wrong! As you can probably guess, my wife and I fell in love with this place, and we will be coming back!

Oh my Goodness the food is 20/10 i just noticed this place opened up and we stopped in and the food was soooo fresh the service was 10/10 everytime someone walked passed us they asked how we were doing. I ordered the Mexican burrito it was massive I had to get a box for the 2nd half ! I ordered the chicken add chrizio and the sausage was so fresh and not greasy as it can be at most chain restaurants. We also ordered the carnita tacos you get an order of 3 and they were great ! Full flavor it comes with a side of cactus salad which is different. It was a no for me bc of the texture but my girlfriend loved it , I wished it came with an option of rice or beans. Also I wish you could order a single taco a la cart would be nice addition to the menu . The restaurant lighting in the dining room was overly bright. I am looking forward to see the decor change a bit. But overall the the place was amazing and if I could have kissed the cook I would have !

I visited this restaurant for the first time today, even though I live nearby, and I have to say; this place is amazing! From the moment we walked in, everything exceeded our expectations. My husband ordered a regular carnitas quesadilla, and he absolutely loved it! The presentation was beautiful, the portion was huge, and the price was incredibly reasonable. My son got a grilled chicken torta sandwich, and we were all blown away. The flavor was extraordinary, and the bread tasted so fresh, we later found out the restaurant makes it themselves! I had the Mexican grilled chicken, and it was beyond delicious, far better than I ever expected. For dessert, we treated ourselves to tres leches and Mexican flan, and let me tell you, every single bite was worth it. Pure perfection! On top of the amazing food, our server made the whole experience even better. The three ladies working here are doing such a fantastic job. We’ll definitely keep coming back. This place has officially become my husband’s and my...

When we got seated a server came to get our drink orders which was only two beers and an iced tea and then someone brought us the chips and salsa which wasn’t even salsa it was tomato sauce with maybe a piece of onion and one piece of cilantro. It literally just tasted like straight tomato sauce out of a can. We had finished most of our chips and still hadn’t got our drinks. Another table came in and was seated and they got chips and their drinks and then even got their appetizers before we even got our drinks and then come to find out the beer we ordered was right in the drink case behind the register. We paid for the queso dip that was so thin, watery and had no flavor and we were basically out of chips. Those took another 15 minutes to get. The service was awful. It seemed like we were being ignored. The food itself was ok but not good enough for the rest of the bad experience for us to ever want to go back there. Not sure how this restaurant got such high reviews but we won’t...
