I really did have my hopes up when the place opened. I'd been so separated from Vietnamese food and culture since moving away from home that I was ecstatic to see anything regarding it here. During the first few days, though their service was rough, their food was actually quite delicious and authentic. The menu was much more expansive and they gave me a satisfying bowl of bún bò.
Coming back a few months later after a series of returns met with disappointment due to missing dishes, they decided to scrap about 75% of the menu entirely, leaving mostly phở and unauthentic sandwiches in its wake and miscellaneous new creations that aren't truly Vietnamese.
I had their spring rolls and the ratio of the fillings were nonexistent. It was stuffed with 95% lettuce and scarcely anything else. Not even vermicelli. My husband had the phở, which was still adequate, though skimp on the meat. I imagined it had some staying power as the safest thing to try on the menu.
Tl;dr, I liked this place once upon a time, but their obligations as a business dampened their original intention to deliver a genuine taste straight from Vietnam. They're better off tearing their decor featuring the variety of nonexistent dishes and advertising as a generic phở place that's no better, and possibly worse, than others in the Delaware region.
Nhưng mà cảm ơn, và tạm biệt. Hy vọng một ngày...
Read moreVisited this restaurant recently. Lady at the desk is very rude. One server for the entire restaurant in the middle of the lunch hour. Our order was wrong, when it arrived at the table. We notified the server who apologized, but offered to do nothing about it. Forks are on the tables in tin uncovered cans. Very unsanitary, considering anyone can touch your fork before you eat with it. Or God forbid sneeze or cough on it. It's worse than bar peanuts, cause at least you can choose not to eat those. But you kinda need a fork. I used the chopsticks, because the thought of random people leaving the restroom, not washing their hands and touching my future fork is disgusting. The space is super cramped. The owner is standoff-ish. My guess is this restaurant will be closed, sooner than later. As soon as, the newness wears off. It has a limited menu and if you've left Dover for good Vietnamese food, you know this is subpar, at best. By the way, the manager did nothing about our meal being wrong either when we mentioned it to her. She just chastised the server. Super, duper poor customer service. Don't waste your time or money. You aren't missing ANYTHING!...

Honestly my Wife & I love this restraunt. It's delicious and we've eaten here on regular occasions (sometimes once a week) or more about a year or so. But there's one major problem occasionally you ask for small things (housan sauce, sweet and sour sauce) and on most occasions(ussually) they're completely forgotten. It's pretty frustrating especially when you feel you eat there enough. I understand times are tough In the restraunt world - but we've even made offers we'll pay extra! But still those things are forgotten. Not to mention our last visits entre was completely wrong we ordered a sandwich and they sent us an entre with vermicelli noodles - although still not bad (but we didn't order that). I personally don't feel It's worth my time to call the restaurant and complain- or make a drive back. So I let time pass in hopes these small things would resolve themselves and they haven't. I'm hoping the owner gets the chance to read this review in hopes that changes will be made to resolve/prevent these hiccups...
