I used to go to this restaurant often until recently and will never be back again bcuz of their COMPLETE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM. The bill was split in 2 checks and when my friend attempted to pay her bill in cash, the server Tina told my friend to pay her bill on a card and give Tina the cash for her service. When my friend refused to and went to the bathroom with her daughter, the waitress then confronted me VERY AGGRESSIVELY about my gf and not only said that she shouldn't be eating at this restaurant, but then Tina wanted me to tip her additionally for my friend although I had already paid my bill and tipped Tina at 20%. She then proceeded to argue with me about my friend and dismissed me mid conversation. The next day, I came back and told the manager about how badly I was treated for no reason as again, I frequented this restaurant. I asked the manager if we could have a conversation outside as to try to avoid further confrontation. The manager assured me that we would be okay talking at the bar and not long after this, the waitress interrupted our conversation to confront me again and argue with me while there's a restaurant full of people. She proceeded to get the owner involved who then watched Tina ATTEMPT to call me a liar, yell, over-talked me, put her hand in my face, and literally walked away from me mid conversation. The manager actually asked Tina to leave the conversation because of how disrespectful she was to me unnecessarily. I expressed to the owner how I did not deserve to be treated this way when I am a repeated paying/tipping customer who did nothing wrong. I can understand her frustrations but this was COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISRESPECTFUL. The manager said to the owner that Tina couldn't keep talking to customers this way. The owner's only response was "I'm sorry for you bcuz it's not you but she can't work for free." When I responded "You should pay your employees living wages and they wouldn't be acting like this over $4" everyone was silent. I have never been this disrespected at a restaurant in my life. Moral of the story, THIS ESTABLISHMENT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS. ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY AND ONCE THEY GET IT...THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS COMFORTABLE WITH DISRESPECTING...
Read moreMy sister and I decided to check out this restaurant because we had heard really good things about it.
First, I should start by saying that this restaurant is one of the most expensive Asian restaurants in the local area that I have found... Being expensive isn't bad if the food and atmosphere make it worth the price, but both were subpar. The atmosphere feels like a cheap whole-in-the-wall Chinese place. Nothing classy about it.
As for the food. We had an appetizer of Vegetable egg rolls (which were very good)... And then the entrees. My sister ordered three signature sushi rolls and I ordered the Pad Thai Tofu with a cucumber sushi roll. I have had Pad Thai from a variety of Asian restaurants, but this version was just disgusting. Smelled horrible, tasted horrible, and even the tofu had a gross texture to it. The waitress explained that this was "authentic" pad Thai not Americanized versions.
I have never lived in Asia, so I won't argue what is authentic or not authentic. What I will say, is that the word authentic can mean different things. For example, depending on where in the US you are, you will have a different opinion of an authentic Philly cheese steak or chicken and dumplings. Every region has its own version. So I'm willing to bet that Pad Thai has variations throughout the Asian world... And this version sucked lol.
I also found it odd that she claimed the dish was authentic when the restaurant is a fusion restaurant, which fusion usually implies that the recipes have been changed up from their originals or blended with other cusines in some way. Otherwise why call yourself a "fusion" restaurant.
All I'll say is that there is something in their sauce combination that ruined the whole dish. BUT... Maybe that's just me. As for my sister's entree, she found the sushi rolls good but bland and not nearly as good as other cheaper restaurants.
However, the service was fantastic. Our waitress was very attentive, hospitable and polite. She did not charge us for the dish I hated.
In the end, this experience wouldn't have been so bad if it was a cheaper dining experience, but the food and the atmosphere do not deserve the prices they charge. So, for me at least, I probably won't be visiting Delicious Fusion...
Read moreFinally a good Asian restaurant in Dover. We lived in South Florida for a few years and these type of sushi/chinese/hibachi restaurants were the norm the we move back to DE and the closest thing to good Chinese is Great Wall but its in a super sketch part of town where you get hounded for money and/or drugs so I only force myself to go when I am absolutely craving this type of food and there is no sushi/hibachi.
This place on the other hand is nice, new, very clean, and in a brand new shopping center. The food is really good and its basically 3 restaurants in one (Chinese, sushi, hibachi). Great sushi for my fiance and great Asian food for me.
If I where to critize anything I'd say they need to step their pork fried rice game up, mainly because I didn't even see one on the menu (only beef & chicken). I'm a pork fried rice connoisseur. You can't be a proper chinese restaurant in this area without a proper pork fried rice but its got to be done right. A good pork fried rice needs to have good Char Siu Pork (sweet BBQ pork thats roasted), mung bean stalks (aka the white stringy things), scallions, and then if your really on top your game a fried egg! Skip the peas or make them optional. The restaurant 'rice' has a great pork fried rice but wayyyy to many peas. When its all done the rice should be brown not nuclear yellow lol. If the rice is yellow in the pork fried rice I literally never return but if it's fried by someone who knows what they are doing and visually looks tan/brown those are the best kind and then I find myself returning 3-4 times per month.
The food I did get was really good though and it's right next to Starbucks so I can grab my afternoon coffee and lunch at the same time. The General Tso was proper white meat instead of that stringy chinese mystery meat that do many use. So I'll definitely be back for that. Thanks for bringing...
