Silver Lake Park — Attraction in Dover

This is a great place to escape the day if u enjoy walking and looking at the scenery or if you are looking for that certain photo opportunity.I fish here from time to time and can say that if you are a bass fisherman like myself and take the time to fish the rocks around the spillway area on the beach side and the creek that winds through the park, you will be rewarded with a few good fish. If you are going out on a boat, be sure to target all the docks and lay downs for some quality bites and then go through the tunnels and work the two points to your right. The second point has a nice drop off and holds some quality bass. A nice place to visit. Plenty of pavilions as well as a playground for children. A beach style area on one side of the park and a gravel parking area give way to a sidewalk that winds it's way through the entire park and leading into the historical park area of downtown will give you more than your fair share of scenic views of tons of small shops to discover. Beautiful place, if people could stop littering it would be even MORE Beautiful! I'm a photographer, and a lot of my pictures come from Silver Lake of the Herons, ospreys, Cormorants, and all that, but it seems like every picture i take I have to edit out trash! If people could start taking their fishing stuff back to their cars with them and their own trash, it'd be a lot better place! Not to mention waiting a minute for the wildlife to get out of your way besides beeping at them and trying to mow them down with your cars!! Have some respect. If anything, the place should belong to the animals. You're the visitor there not them, stop acting like they're in your way!!

Rocky area by Bridge is full of snakes, keep your kids...

It's a great park but I wish some people wouldn't choose this spot to do their drug deals. I mean, it couldn't be any more obvious that some of you are either waiting for your dealer, or doing a deal. 🙄🤦‍♀️ Pick another spot man, there are families here. And we see you!

But besides that! It's a lovely park with a lake that you can fish at, lots of wildlife around to observe, a huge shaded area, a long windy path to walk, a playground, BBQ grills, trash cans, yes you heard me, this park actually has TRASH CANS!! HALLELUJAH! 😅 We love walking over the bridge over the water every time. Has a dock here too for boating. Great place to spend...
