Google asks, “Why was it poor?” This facility and all amenities is entirely why my stay was poor. Unless you’re an entomologist and enjoy classifying bugs based on the various spatter and antennae smashed against the dirty walls, don’t stay here.
Long story short: Other hotels were fully booked or way out of price. Had to stay here… so I bought a tarp, ant and roach spray, Lysol spray, and new bedding. After essentially disinfecting the room and spraying the perimeter, my boyfriend and I covered each piece of furniture with plastic so we would avoid touching any of the horribly stained furniture. I slept four nights on a bed covered with a plastic tarp because I couldn’t fathom any other way.
The only positive that allows there to be one star is the maintenance manager who was honest in saying there are sketchy people who hang out in the parking lot (which there were during three of the nights I stayed here). And the kind lady who pushed around a Target shopping kart knocking on everyone’s door asking if they needed room service. Which just meant clean-ish towels. But nonetheless, they were both kind and friendly.
Full story: I made the mistake of getting caught in the hype of booking this hotel when the Firefly Music Festival lineup was released where subsequently, hotels where overbooked or prices sky-rocketed. Based on the photos, I thought the Days Inn would be accommodating. Upon check-in, the service was subpar, but when I entered the first room I was utterly disgusted and terrified. There were blood stains on the walls, dirty towels in the bathroom, and the bathroom tiles were broken and exposing mold underneath. I can’t even begin to mention the cockroaches smashed against the walls.
After complaining to the front desk, I was given a “business suite” room that was much cleaner than the first room. However, still unsuitable: stains on the bedding and furniture, and still… the ever so amusing imprints of cockroaches and other insects smashed against the walls. Once again, if you like bugs, you’d get a kick at how pristine some of their exoskeletons are preserved on the walls!
After being told by the front desk that I was not allowed to switch rooms again, I figured this would have to do. Luckily, there was a Big Lots down the street where I covered every inch of the room with tarp. We even made friends with the next door occupants who made great use of the ant and roach spray we have to purchase because their room was infested.
This motel is literally where I assume people go when they’re...
Read moreWhen we arrived to the hotel our room number was 226 I do not expect you guys to come to this hotel at all it is worse terrible service we went to the room door and try to open it and it wouldn't open unless we kick the door in cuz how stuck it was. we got into the room the TV didn't work the beds are disgusting will we walked into the bathroom the toilet had black and yellow stains shower did not have a curtain and when I went to go ask for a new curtain they were acting like they did not know what I was talking about I had to say it like 3 or more times is half broken and you got a gently used the knob to turn the water or it will fall out and you can't take a regular shower without you being floated in with the feet go almost all the way out of the tub having two waters coming out of the shower and the regu this is the worst experience ever at this hotel it used to be a good hotel until these days now when we ask for service keep telling us don't speak English like don't come here if you don't speak English at least have someone on site and then you can't understand what they're saying because they talk too slow the TV dont work me wow the safe door was not shut and nor plugged in I was not paying attention and I knocked myself because I'm so tired I was not paying attention we kept asking for room changes we went and looked at each room and decided it was a waste of time to move things over to a different room because every single room the TV didn't work or there was stuff all over the floor 126 was horrible the she wasn't me one bed was completely off the bed frame period. Then we decided to check out a different room 211 meanwhile there was no remote to the TV and I went and got the Remote and return to the room and try to turn the TV on and it came up as a black screen so did we came to the conclusion to just stay in room 226 we are supposed to spend three more days here we're not going to last till tomorrow morning open to last by tomorrow afternoon. If I was running a hotel I will make sure I was on top of everything made sure this was a best place I would of made sure that the room I was given someone that had clean sheets clean beds not as filthy and TV working upgraded bathroom and cleaner than today an edible food and not getting offered just bread and staled cereal and sour milk so I hope everyone read this and to not come to the Days inn in Dover worst place better than being on the streets but very worse not to spend your money if you have a...
Read moreOk if i could leave a negative 5 I would. Booked thru priceline and in 7 years have never had a place tell me that priceline did not pay for the room. The guy at the service desk was rude to both my husband and myself. His story change from 1st our credit card was declined to then pricelines credit was declined. Called priceline and it was clearly paid for. I had the reservation was set and sent on an email to me. As my husband was trying to check in notice some shady goings on in the parking lot. When he came out and said we wasn't paid for. Called price line. While on hold went in to the front desk and that was when I was told it was priceline that was not paid up. I told him had the email on my phone and he said call priceline they didn't pay. After walking out the door priceline answered so I went back to the desk and let them talk to him. When the call was in transfer to their credit department he looks at a guy that just came in and told to come up. As the lady is trying to talk to him he checks in the other guy and snubs the priceline. So i had to explain what was going on.she told me it was paid and to give him my phone. I tried he would not talk to her. He wouldn't even acknowledge that I was standing there. My only choice was to walk outside and tell her that he was refusing to even act like I was trying to hand him the phone. I also told her about the goings on in the parking lot. At this time I returned to my vehicle because in no way did I feel safe. As my husband and I are trying to clear this up we had another guy approach us and ask for food, then milk, and then money. Priceline at that time decide to just refund us because it did not apper to be a safe environment. In 45 minutes of time that was the second incident that had happened outside. Know that a hotel doesn't control the guest, but the can monitor what is going on and call authorities to keep other guest safe. Or let things happen and not care. I think the second is this places approach. Let me also state while I was talking to the guy at the front desk while on hold he rudely said that what happens when you book anywhere else but thru him. So. My opinion. Stay away from this place. It is not safe. So this was a long one, but wanted the details shared so that people know of the environment before...
