After driving past this small bakery in dover for the past 10 years I decided to stop in and check it out -
My general take away is that this is a nice, small, family owned bakery offering some solid baked goods that are just trying to make a living here in this beautiful green state.
I got the cinnamon roll, a chocolate croissant, and a snickerdoodle cookie.
The cinnamon roll was solid, not really as to what I thought the hype was about, but it was a very solid cinnamon roll, and actually feel like if you split it with another person would be perfect portion size and a great way to spend a few bucks with a friend for breakfast.
I very much liked the Choc Croissant, it was a nice small size and a perfect snack, didnt fall apart and crumple everywhere. Would be perfect if you are in need of a quick snack on the way to a shred sesh at the mountain.
Snickerdoodle cookie also good. Nothing special, but good.
I went on 11:30am on a weekday and no one was there so chill experience, but Im sure that changes in the winter/busy times. The area inside is very small so could be crammed, but again was there by myself so plenty of space.
My only real Con about the place is the parking is veryyyy tough. I Its just a very weird parking lot and gotta be careful. I parked and althought it was empty parking lot and the owners let me know right when I walked in that I parked incorrectly. Not a big deal now I am aware for next time, and obviously they are running a business in a small space I am sure that it is not easy to manage.
All in All nice place, They also had some very nice looking bread loafs, but didn't have the chance to try some. Also not a huge crazy amount of variety, but I did go later in the day which is why that might be the case. I would...
Read moreThe treats here are amazing. My family stayed in Vermont for a week and we went twice. First trip we got their cinnamon buns, Plain croissants, Chocolate croissants And we were able to snag the last apple turnover. The chocolate croissant and the apple turnover were amazing because they were not too sweet perfect for somebody who doesn’t like anything super super sweet. The plain croissant was the best one I ever had. The second time we went back, they had more options as it was a busier time. This time we got the cinnamon roll again (even better the second time) , The blueberry muffins (which were amazing again, not too sweet and full of blueberries!), The herb and cheese sourdough bread which was great, and the focaccia bread came fresh out of the oven and was literally the best bread I think I ever had. We quite literally tore it apart with our bare hands in the parking lot. They have hot coffee available, but then they also had iced coffee in In the fridge as well as tea which were both great! The tea was my fave.
The customer service was great both times even as it was very busy the second time around!! People need to keep in mind that this is a SMALL BUSINESS! It’s run by the owners who you can tell put their hearts and souls into this place. If you’re not sure if they’re open-CALL that is what we did. Also, when people are being rude, they don’t need to follow the rules of a big business, so just don’t be rude! If you’re confused about the parking from some of these reviews, we didn’t have a problem with it. You simply pull in like a normal spot. Don’t block the bakery and don’t park as if you’re parallel parking.
We will be coming back next time we’re in Vermont! Love...
Read moreTerrible experience. Owner was extremely rude and arrogant. Witnessed owner yelling at employees. We ended up leaving, cinnamon buns aren’t worth patronizing such miserable human beings. On to the next bakery lol Response to their response: I appreciate the opportunity to clarify my experience. While I understand that weekends can be hectic, my perspective on the situation remains unchanged. We, the five in the car, shared our honest experience as a customer, and my review reflects how I felt in that moment. If there was a misunderstanding, I regret that, but I stand by my observations and how we were made to feel. As for the parking situation, we were doing our best to follow the flow of traffic and did not intend to cause any inconvenience. I don't see the need for more cars to pile in when we were waiting for the one spot available. A car was able to get around us and we were able to get the spot by patiently waiting. Maybe some signage would help you vs. a shy door attendant (that probably quit that same day after being yelled at). I respect that you are a small, family-run business, but your less than humble attitude will run its course for you. Feedback, whether positive or negative, is a part of customer experiences, and I hope it can be taken...
