Mosaik Hookah Lounge — Restaurant in Downey

I can't give it a good review or a bad review but I thought I need to mention this before anyone goes there.

I and my friend decided to smoke some hookah so I checked Yelp and shows it's cheap.

WRONG!

To my surprise, there's actually a cover charge to get in.

What? A cover charge? For a hookah place? Each person have to pay a cover charge.

Get this, they say once you pay to get in, it's require that you buy a hookah and smoke in there.

ummm... if anyone going to hookah place, I think people will buy and smoke hookah there.

Oh yeah... I just want to go to a hookah place and watch and smell other people smoking hookah. I don't want to smoke hookah. (sarcasm).

The music is quite loud in there. I can hear the music from the outside.

It seems to me they trying to run the business like a club / bar than a hookah place.

Toward the end, we decided to pass on this location. Not worth it. Too expensive and loud music in there. Generally speaking, hookah places suppose to be a place to smoke hookah and relax...

I will give this place 5 stars for old time's sake, this place used to be my goto hookah place, I used to go to this spot 2-3 times a week, the staff is very friendly, and hookah used to be very good, things I hate there is a cover charge on weekends, very loud music, even when they play movies the music is way too loud, they started selling an alcoholic beverage that is way too expensive. They should bring new flavors to hookah, bring fruit head bowls and stop charging people cover charges on weekends, and the music is really loud. The experience was good, I know it could of been better. What got me the most was how expensive $$$ it was totally not worth $30 for two people which is only 1 hookah and 1 flavor. It's lame how they charge a $7 entrance fee for each person that's what I didn't like. Although I did have a good time with my group of friends but we all agreed we wouldnt go back. Exhale Cafe in Long Beach is much better and no entrance fee they also give a student discount with a college ID so for 2 people...
