Decided to dine-in for Father's Day today with my wife and 2 daughters. This was just our 2nd time eating here. Huge mistake. Started my Father's Day on the wrong note.
I wanted to order the Steak and Chilaquiles, but wanted green chilaquiles instead of the red chilaquiles the plate comes with. Unfortunately, the waitress told us we couldn't make any substitutions today because they were expecting to be "too busy." So, I asked if I can order the Chilaquiles Verdes with pork belly instead of chicken, but once again, I couldn't make any substitutions. The whole reason I wanted the green chilaquiles is because I ordered the red chilaquiles on our 1st visit and was not impressed at all. My daughter ordered the green chilaquiles on our 1st visit and I thought they were much better, but I couldn't eat what I wanted to eat on my day, Father's Day. I found this extremely annoying. How difficult can it be to change the red chilaquiles for green chilaquiles or chicken to pork belly?! What was even more annoying is that it took them about 30 minutes to bring our food out after settling for a plate that I really didn't want in the 1st place. On top of that, half way through our meal there were several vacant tables throughout the restaurant, but they were "too busy" to make any substitutions?
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I thought I had found a good brunch spot near home after our 1st visit. Sports on all walls, good micheladas, and my daughters liked their food. They just lost what would have been a loyal customer for years to come because either the kitchen staff can't handle simple substitutions or because management made the stupid decision to not accommodate simple substitutions on plates their customers...
Read moreCame to have lunch with our kids on Aug 8th, as they had been there before and wanted to share the great atmosphere, drinks, and food.
Place was very cool looking and we were seated right away. We were a bit worried as other reviews indicated, the wait was always long.
The table was a bit sticky, but we were just glad to be there so we shrugged it off. We ordered a flight of Margaritas, a flight of Micheladas, and a flight of the Mexican Candy. They were delicious. For food, we just ordered the Mexican Tablon, which was worth the $49.99, it contained a variety of delicious assortments, like Tacos, Sopes, Nachos, & Taquitos with Guacamole, along with an order of Asada Fries....again...all good.
The 4 stars is about the food, but I couldn't give them a 5. This is why...
As a Mexican family, we share our plates and drinks, so I tasted the Margarita Flight, and spilled it, not only on the table, but on one of my kids lap. We asked the bartender for napkins, as our waitress was not to be seen. He gave us a small little stack to wipe the table, but just the fact that he didn't give us a towel or call for someone to clean it was disappointing. When our waitress came, we told her what happened, and she was like sorry, but no, let me have them clean up the table or or floor, or replace the drink. (I replaced the beverage with a larger drink)
Now, I know why our table was sticky, and shame on me for not making a big deal. Great food and environment, but don't think we'll be going back...
Read moreOh, man. This place was pretty disappointing. Went during a weekday in the afternoon. Waited in the front for a hostess for a while, just when my party and I were gonna help ourselves and take a seat anywhere the hostess came and seated us outside. Took 10 min, prob more, to have a waitress come out to take our order or even acknowledge us. When she did come, she was VERY nice. Very apologetic. Which kind of made up for the already lack of customer interaction. The food was very mediocre. The drinks were even more mediocre. I had a Southside martini, El pepe and some other drink I forgot the name of, all of them were very underwhelming. The food was cold when it go to us. It wasn't great, nothing special at all. The table had ordered the calamari- it was so rubbery and hard to chew and put down. The campechana was very basic. The mixed fajitas were cold and so was the tortilla. The shrimp was absolutely over cooked to where it was a terrible texture. The potatoes in that dish were for sure NOT fresh from that day. Again, good customer service I think kind of made up for the bad food and drinks... That was until our waitress went to break and the one covering, unfortunately, I suspect wasn't having a good day and it was clear. So again, we were left with a bad taste ; figuratively and literally! I guess the great thing about the location was that we were able to go to other bars...
