Downey Stinkin Crawfish — Restaurant in Downey

So we went by yesterday and ordered 1.5 of the white shrimp and added 2 make it awesome's. We ordered it to go so while we waited I had a Michelada and my gf had the fried oreo with ice cream. Up until that point everything was great. I have to say the customer service is great. We live fairly close and just wanted to sit at home and have a quiet dinner. First shrimp was great, the potatoes were fine, the sausage was actually delicious, the corn was good but the second shrimp I grabbed as soon as I brought it towards my face I could tell something was wrong, it had an odd smell. Out of the bag there were approximately about 10 shrimps that had gone bad. They were simply not edible. At this point we were so grossed out by it we couldn't eat it. When you pay $40 for shrimp you shouldn't have to be digging for the good ones and throwing out the ones who have gone bad. I do not believe they didn't know those shrimp had gone bad the difference in the smell is intense. I'm totally disappointed and ended up completely sick and nauseous all night. I don’t recommend this place after seeing how they treat their customers. As I was checking out the young lady with glasses and short reddish hair sat four 6’5 men on the smallest table. They barley fit. You know eating with your hands you need space! So they nicely asked her to change to a bigger both. She had the audacity to tell them no, the table is for 6 people! And if they wanted to sit there they would have to pay gratuity to make up for the extra seats. NO FREAKING WAY. Unbelievable. They agreed. How sad. Wont be back. Service on top of that tonight was terrible at 6:30 pm. No one asked how we were doing, I would have told them my shrimp tasted watered down! What a waste of money. And I still left a tip! Maybe staff should be taught to accommodate customers, what if there was a disabled customer who needed a bigger table? Would she have done the same? Not good customer service. I felt like eating crawfish, so I looked up the top rated Louisiana restaurant in the surrounding area and I found "stinkin crawfish" restaurant in a very popular area of Downey and right across the street from Portos bakery. So I figured, it must be good! Not to mention the almost 5 stars that it had from 43 reviews.

I go there at about 9pm and ordered 1/2lb crawfish for myself and gumbo soup for my husband. 5am I wake up with food poisoning throwing up, light headed, almost passing out and so on. Ended up in the doctors office......by the way, he confirmed I had food poisoning and said they probably didn't wash their crawfish properly or didn't handle it properly. Whatever it was, I definitely got sick of it!

I called the restaurant and the manager tells me it probably just didn't sit well in my stomach..........

Seriously! I will not be going back here! I would stay away...
