Stopped in with my bestfriend since I’ve been looking for good gluten free bakeries. Sweetah’s has always been on my list, but I hadn’t had a chance to stop in due to my schedule. On this trip I picked up some challah bread and a mini cheesecake. Found out that they have their gluten free breads delivered fresh from a Philly-based Kosher and GF baker, taffets. At the time of my visit, they had challah, quinoa multigrain, sourdough boule, and baguettes available; it was a hard choice to make. Now the mini cheesecake was so good; delicious crust with smooth cheesecake topped with a raspberry surrounded by blueberries. Let’s just say that it didn’t make it out of the parking lot. I haven’t tried the challah yet, but I’m excited to cut it down and make some french toast. The owner recommended cutting it down and freezing what I don’t use so that I can get the most use out of it, so that’s what I plan on doing. I’ll definitely be back for more cheesecake and to try out some of her scones. My bestfriend grabbed her last lemon blueberry scone and she raved about it while eating it in the parking lot too lol. There were also maple pecan scones on display that looked really good, but I wanted more fruity flavors this trip.

I had a very special cake request for my daughter’s bridal shower - not only did they need to be gluten free, but also Vegan AND we wanted them orange flavored and heart shaped. I communicated with Elisa thru email and text to get them just right and she delivered fabulously and the cakes were a great hit! At the shower!! She did a beautiful job decorating them, even adding little pearls and shimmer, they were exactly what we wanted, and tasted delicious with great orange flavor!! She also made a carat birthday cake which was wonderful too! We normally order from Happy Mixer but they only offer vanilla and chocolate for vegan so we were happy to have Sweetahs who could give us variety. And the cakes were huge with way more servings in each than expected! We'll be getting our cakes from Sweetahs from now on! Thank you so much Elisa!!

I usually hate gluten free baked products but because of my autoimmune disorder I have to get my taste buds accustomed. This little shop does quite a fantastic job on the gluten free products especially the coffee cake so every year I come visit my mom for the holidays I always order it. this year I ordered it and it was so delicious then I found out a new owner just took over and I am just beyond words - the quality is even better than before! everyone at my holiday party jumped on it and gave me such compliments I had to go back the next day and order it again it was that good!

Hands down best gluten-free bakery I’ve tried so far, and the chocolate cupcakes with chocolate buttercream frosting are probably the best I’ve had—period. Gluten free or not.

Neither my partner nor I have a gluten allergy, nor are either of us vegan. We weren’t seeking out a gluten-free bakery when we first stumbled on Sweetah’s for the first time a couple of years ago. We just lived nearby and, on a whim during one of our strolls around the borough, decided to pick up a few cupcakes to take home and try out. The rest is history. Suffice to say, we ended up getting our anniversary cake from there that year (SO good!).

I also want to add, I found the owner’s/owners’ manner of adhering to CDC guidelines refreshing. Throughout the pandemic, they (have?—not sure how it is now, since we haven’t been there recently) had a table set up that both placed ample distance between vendor and customer and effectively extended the working behind-the-counter space into the main floor area where customers could formerly walk up to the display cases pre-pandemic. You could still see everything you needed to see in the cases, and peruse small individually wrapped treats and breads on display on the table/checkout counter closest you. Whoever is working would use gloves and masks and had ample sanitizer available for customers as well as themselves. It felt safe in the store, exceptionally clean, & respectfully spaced out—which of course is exactly what I hope for when my food, & public health on the whole, is involved.

Update: Stopped in again recently, right before the store was closing for the day (we came in at 2:58, when they closed at 3), with my sis-in-law who has Celiacs who’s visiting us & the area. Sis-in-law was naturally super excited about the whole shop being gluten free. I have to say, I felt moved by the fact the women working behind the display cases were so friendly and warmly conversational, especially so close to closing. They even gave her a free bonus apple cider donut in addition to the cupcakes and donut we purchased. She mentioned gently that they’re closing anyway and that she just knew my sis-in-law love it. (Spoiler alert: She absolutely did love those donuts!—and the cupcakes).

I just really appreciate small gestures and friendly customer service like that. I wouldn’t have been put off, or surprised, if folks there were very straightforward with our transaction given we came in at the very end of their long day and on a probably crazy day, what with the Arts Fest in town. It’s so refreshing and really makes all the difference when people go above and beyond despite all...

I placed an order on the website, which it allowed and sent me an email confirmation. My sister has Celiac Disease and it’s very hard to find dedicated gluten free bakeries. She is getting surgery Wednesday to remove cancer, so I wanted to surprise her with some treats! This is an hour drive but i was willing to make the trip. I placed my order Saturday to pick up Tuesday at 12. I called just to make sure it would be ready by 12 and the woman said she wasn’t going to do the order and I was too late…. At 830 on Tuesday. She never let me know before that she wasn’t and I had to call her! She said she “rejected” the order but that does not notify me that it was rejected, it’s just on her end. I could have driven an hour to not get what I ordered. She said she had an ordering period but her site didn’t indicate that and accepted an order for Tuesday (it wouldn’t allow one for Monday so clearly she had the capability of being responsible and ensuring no orders could be placed) poor business and now it’s too late for me to go...
