I’m not from the area but I’ve always loved bb.q chicken from Korea and don’t get me wrong the food here was amazing it was delicious the sauces were all different and very fresh. The secret sauce “양념“ chicken was really tasty! However, the service was horrible. We felt like we weren’t welcomed there the girl I think her name was like Rosen? Or Rowen? We’ve been there twice this week and both times we’ve had uncomfortable encounters with her.
The first time we went we ordered 3 different chicken flavors and there was 4 of us present. My mom asked for 2 more chopsticks as she put in 2. She looked at my mom just stared at her and so my mom asked again and finally she sighed and put them in and seem annoyed. This was fine we all have our days.
Second time we go, yesterday, she was there. We ordered 4 different flavors and ordered extra radish (which we paid for) and at the end she opens the radish container and puts just 5 of them in one by one doesn’t even fill the bottom of the container, again just seemed annoyed, and then shut it. We were going to ask her to just fill the extra cup up but did not want conflict so we just left. Please, we want to feel welcomed and not want this to affect our experience and image of this store. She was very rude and the whole experience was very disappointing!!! I would like to go back before returning back home but she/the customer service makes me hesitant...
Read moreMy meal was delicious and quite obviously was freshly made. This is a somewhat new location for this brand, and I hope they will do well in the Dr. Phillips area, but I am definitely concerned about them in this very competitive food/beverage district. You can't survive on strictly tasty meals without something to support it. This is counter service ordering with (on this visit) very minimal assistance from team members regarding menu questions. I made my decision, placed my order, paid in advance, and received my beverage cup. No welcome or thanks throughout. When I arrived, there were a few diners at two separate tables. When I departed, there was only one single person in the dining room. Not busy at all. Team members were constantly on mobile devices. There was no cleaning of tables. When my food was ready, my name was called to pick it up at the counter. That is the design of service, but with only two people in the entire dining room, it could have made a nice impression on overall service ... especially since a service gratuity is prompted on the payment screen, and I did pay it. No "Thank you" whatsoever throughout. I do want to repeat that my meal was quite tasty and fresh. There is no issue there. It just can't be the main point of existence in the hospitality industry. I may return later to see if the experience is different. Until then, I'm very hesitant to recommend...
Read moreHeard good things about bb.q chicken locations elsewhere so was excited that they were opening one in Dr Phillips. Went inside and the lady working the counter told us it’d be an over 30 minute wait if we wanted to order. Pretty weird since there were no other customers there waiting for food and wings only take a few minutes to cook from raw in a deep fryer. We decided to give them a shot anyways despite the long wait so I asked for a large order and asked to have it half and half-NOPE. Was told that despite this being a $40 order of wings you’re only allowed ONE sauce and if you want two flavors you’d need to go buy two separate smaller orders of wings or buy the large order unsauced and PURCHASE a second sauce on the side?! I’ve eaten at a lot of Korean chicken wing places and not once before has it ever been an issue to get two sauces on a large order. Then on top of that you don’t get anything with the wings, even the tiny little pieces of diced radish they wanted additional money for. Completely crazy that they’re trying to nickel and dime people on an already $40 order of wings. Just felt like they were basically telling us not to bother eating there since it’d take forever to get the food and they’d be nickel and diming us for even a few pieces of raw radish. Totally nuts that you’d start a new...
