Unlike other reviewers, I went in with no expectations. We asked the cashier for recommendations, as we were first time guests. He said, “Everything is good.”
We ordered the Lobster/Shrimp Combo and the GR Combo, along with a Fountain Coke and a Milkshake Combo. The cashier prepared our mini-milkshakes, handed me a cup, lid and straw, which he picked up with tongs. We were then told our number and to pick up the food around the corner when our number is called.
The cashier was polite, spoke at a low volume and was very impersonal. I kept having to ask him to repeat himself. He did upsell on the French fries but did not offer drinks or milkshakes.
I went to get the fountain soft drink while my friend went outside to get a table. In dispensing the Coke, the last bit sputtered and the soda began foaming up. I placed the lid atop and joined my friend outside. Our number was called and she went inside to collect our food.
As the food was placed on the table, I took a few photographs. We both thought it looked delicious. It was neatly displayed in cardboard containers with the two dipping sauces held in place by cutouts in the cardboard. I bit into a shrimp while my friend bit into a lobster tail. They were served hot. The shrimp looked so large, as they were covered with a more than generous amount of batter. The batter was crispy on the outside, yet gooey (almost slimy) on the inside. I then tried the chicken, followed by the fish. My friend and I shared each other’s protein items, sampling a bit of everything. Neither of us cared for the batter. It was golden on the outside and seemed underdone on the inside. The lobster was fried in the shell and had no more than one ounce of meat. The portions, once you got past all of that breading were very small. The chips (or French fries for us Americans) were barely warm. The ones with added cheese and other toppings were not warm enough to have melted the cheese. This was not worth the $3 up charge.
All of the food tasted as though it was fried in the same oil. Everything seemed to have strong onion flavor. Once I pulled the breading off the rest of my food after eating one shrimp, I found it all to be mediocre at best. I had the cocktail sauce and curry & mango sauce and my friend had the tartar sauce and sriracha aioli. The cocktail sauce was bland and had zero flavor. The curry and mango tasted like heavy curry powder only. The tartar sauce and sriracha aioli both tasted good.
The facility was clean, with staff members continually cleaning. The guests were annoying, dragging tables and chairs across the concrete outside. The sound was like nails on a chalkboard. The restroom (they have 2) was clean and stocked with everything except for seat covers. The restaurant is located within Icon Park and overlooked a lovely waterfall.
Overall, I didn’t care for the food. The fountain drink was not mixed at a proper ratio (too much seltzer, too little syrup). The milkshakes were good but the whipped topping tasted like cool whip and we didn’t care for that.
Now that we’ve tried it once, there’s no need to...

Opting for the fish and chips combo was a fantastic choice. The dish arrived impeccably presented, showcasing the expertise that comes with the Gordon Ramsay name. The fish was cooked to perfection, with a crisp and flavorful batter that complemented the tender interior. The chips were a delightful accompaniment, offering that quintessential comfort food experience.
One of the highlights of my meal was the lemonade I paired with my fish and chips. The tartness was just what I was craving, and it added a refreshing contrast to the savory flavors of the dish. It's clear that attention is paid even to the smallest details at this restaurant.
My son's choice of fish and chips with a strawberry and creme shake was equally outstanding. I couldn't resist sneaking a few sips of his shake, and I was met with a burst of deliciousness. The sweetness of the strawberry combined with the creaminess created a delightful treat that perfectly complemented the savory flavors of the fish and chips.
The attentive and friendly staff added to the overall positive experience. Their dedication to providing excellent service and making sure every aspect of our visit was enjoyable did not go unnoticed. As a fan of Gordon Ramsay's culinary prowess, I can confidently say that this restaurant lives up to its reputation.

Read moreGordon Ramsay’s Fish & Chips is in the heart of busy ICON park. The building’s theme and colors are very British and fun-looking. The staff/customer service is welcoming and very nice.
We ordered the fish combo with #2 Dirty fries (chips). Our first fries were soggy and lacked the truffle Parmesan seasoning. A staff member gladly offered a fresh basket of the same chips and they were deliciously perfect. The Gordon’s tartar and sriracha Aioli sauces are very good, wish they gave more sauce.
The fish itself was the biggest disappointment. The Cod was properly cooked, but lacked any resemblance of seasoning. The meat was very bland, almost like boiled tilapia. The batter was excessively thick and had a slight sweetness to it. I love fried foods but honestly, biting into this batter made me feel slightly sick. I could not eat the entirety of the batter.
We had a fresh lemonade, it was good… not too sweet or sour.
There were a lot of flies in the building.. welcome to Florida.
We finished our visit with a Biscotti shake. The consistency was perfect, and the flavor was tremendous. The biscotti shake was definitely the star of the show and makes sense to be one of Gordon’s favorites.
Last but not least, the pricing.
Yes, it is very expensive for what it is, but so is everything else at that location. The pricing reflects the typical tourist trap pricing. I will say though, the portion size is larger than in pictures, and I was surprisingly stuffed after eating.
Overall, an average experience but something different. I would go back for the Biscotti shake and maybe a small serving of chips. I hope Gordon Ramsay makes adjustments to the fish recipe, especially. With the big name comes the big expectations of...
