Harris Rosen needs to get this place updated and fixed, ASAP
My daughter was in town for the Florida State YMCA Championship the weekend of February 21-23. The conditions in the building for I would estimate 1500-2000 people were atrocious. Broken bleachers, black mold on the plywood floors of the spectator seating, broken handrails, and worst of all- two working bathrooms (as in... two toilets) for 1500+ people to use. The bathrooms are apparently being updated, but they aren't finished. I'm certainly glad they ARE being updated, but since they weren't finished before State, why didn't the Y bring in portable restrooms for the event- it wasn't like they didn't know it was coming.
Some of our swim parents stayed in hotels within walking distance, and they went back to their room to use the restroom. There were apparently other restrooms in the facility that they could have used, but opted not to.
The facility gets two stars from me because it is in a very prime location. There are numerous hotels nearby, 3 of which share the same parking lot with the Y, so it is certainly very accessible. Because of the hotels, parking was also very ample. Lots of restaurants are also nearby. We stayed at the Rosen Inn, just down the street from the Center and we were able to get there within 3 minutes driving, although we could have easily walked.
I certainly appreciate the time and effort that it takes for the Y and volunteers from the YCF Swim Team to make the event flow well, and they certainly accomplished that, but events are held at this facility throughout the year, and every swimmer pays a facility charge with our entry fees. They need to GUT those horrible, horrible spectator bleachers and make sure those bathrooms get completed-...
Read moreRosen Aquatic & Fitness Center exceeded all expectations during our recent visit. The facility itself is nothing short of amazing, boasting top-notch amenities and a well-maintained environment that truly enhances the overall experience.
However, what truly made our stay exceptional was the outstanding staff, and one individual, in particular, stood out - Gabriel Torres. From the moment we arrived, Gabriel went above and beyond to make us feel not just like visitors, but like valued guests. His warm welcome and genuine enthusiasm created a positive atmosphere, setting the tone for an enjoyable visit.
What stood out most was Gabriel's commitment to ensuring our experience was seamless. He patiently addressed all our questions, offering not only accurate information but also a genuine eagerness to assist. His knowledge of the facility and its offerings showcased a dedication to his role that significantly contributed to the overall satisfaction of our visit.
It's noteworthy that our group came from across the country, and the hospitality extended by Gabriel and the entire staff left a lasting impression. Rosen Aquatic & Fitness Center is not just a facility; it's a testament to exceptional service, and Gabriel Torres exemplifies the commitment to making guests feel not just accommodated but genuinely valued.
Our sincere thanks to the entire team at Rosen Aquatic & Fitness Center, and especially to Gabriel Torres, for turning what could have been a routine visit into a memorable experience. We look forward to returning and enjoying the fantastic facilities and the warm hospitality that sets this...
Read moreThe pool is nice and indoors. However, it all ends there. They only care about getting your money. We just went to a swim event, and they are charging more here than at any other place by a lot. Also, they oversold the tickets, and the parents end up jammed in like sheep with no seating area. Literally, one of the worst run events in the last 7 years that we've been going to them. No organization whatsoever. I would've been better off in my car. They should fire the people working here and whoever is running these events here, and get someone who is competent to do this. The reason we were given for this mess is that they only planned for half as many people since that's how many showed up last year. So let me get this straight. Are you planning on not having a good or popular event? This makes no sense. You should never plan to be a failure. Also, I currently have a knee injury, and they do have a place for handicapped, but they aren't allowing anyone else. So if I need something like a drink or whatever, then I would have to walk to my wife who is upstairs or I would have to have her walk to me. Doesn't make a ton of sense having one of us in one spot and the other one in another. It just makes it harder for both of us. I just found out they told some parents that the cost to get in was $5 ! day, and yet they told us yesterday that it was $10 to get in. Who is getting that extra $5? Everyone of these rude thieves needs...
