I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration regarding an interaction I had with your staff during a recent visit. What I encountered was nothing short of appalling, and the level of disrespect I experienced is something I feel compelled to bring to your attention.
Upon entering your establishment, I was met with a team of three employees, and while none of them displayed the professionalism I would have expected, one individual stood out for his deeply inappropriate and unprofessional behavior. Despite the fact that I was calm and respectful throughout the encounter, this employee chose to raise his voice at me, displaying a tone and attitude that were both hostile and completely unwarranted. At no point did I provoke or warrant such a reaction, and yet I found myself being spoken to in a way that no customer or guest should ever have to endure.
What made the situation even more unbearable was the employee's decision to mock me. He sarcastically told me, “I’m speaking to you in English,” as if to imply that I couldn’t understand, and proceeded to make assumptions about my background, assuming I was American when I am, in fact, from South America. This comment, clearly meant to belittle and humiliate me, was deeply offensive. I felt targeted, insulted, and diminished, all because of his ignorance and inability to handle a situation with basic respect and professionalism.
I have never felt so disrespected in my life. As a person, I expect to be treated with dignity, especially when I am conducting myself calmly and politely. To have an employee not only raise their voice at me but also mock and make presumptions about my background was beyond hurtful. It was shocking and disheartening to realize that someone working in a customer-facing role would behave in such a manner.
As someone who has worked in hospitality for several years, I am well aware of the standards expected in this industry. Respect, patience, and professionalism should be the baseline of any interaction with a guest, regardless of the circumstances. Yet, what I witnessed and experienced from your staff was the complete opposite. From the moment I walked in, the employees were disengaged, sitting on their phones, showing a complete lack of regard for their responsibilities. And when I tried to speak with them, I was met with mockery, hostility, and complete disrespect.
This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially from individuals who are supposed to represent your business. It reflects poorly on your establishment and leaves a lasting negative impression on those who walk through your doors. No guest should ever be treated the way I was, and I sincerely hope that this matter is addressed with the seriousness it deserves.
I trust that management will take the necessary steps to ensure that your staff is trained to treat all guests with the respect and professionalism they deserve. No one should walk away from your business feeling humiliated or disrespected, and I hope that future guests will not have to experience what I did.
