It’s really disheartening to write. I loved (please note I used past tense) coming over the years, but my experience tonight was one of the worst experiences. I’ve spent birthdays, brought family from out of town, and have had dinner outings here, and after tonight I can’t see myself 1. Wanting to give my business ever again and 2. Can’t see myself recommending this place to anyone to go to. When I checked in, I was told they were running about 15 minutes behind. I was totally understanding, I’m very understanding that things can happen. I made my reservation online for 7:15PM and checked in at 7:18PM. I went outside in the crowed bar area to wait (mind you it’s storming like crazy, raining sideways and all), and I got a text immediately. I went in and I was starting to be taken to the back of the restaurant and I didn’t see any open tables so I was confused to where the seater was taking me. She took me outside in the crazy storm. If the rained picked up more anyone outside would feel it. Very nicely I said, “is there any way I cannot be seated outside, respectfully of course. I don’t feel comfortable being outside in this weather, and when I made the reservation I did ask if it was possible to be in a booth”. I said the last part because I would think with the request for a booth, that was an obviously indication I wanted to at least be inside but at the end of the day it was what it was. She proceeded to tell me that I could go back to the front and let them know that I didn’t want to sit where I was sat. Now mind you, I’ve been here a lot and typically when you check in, they ask if you want to sit inside or outside and that wasn’t asked when I checked in. I figured they didn’t ask me because of the storm and they weren’t going to seat people outside in a storm , but a poor assumption on my part clearly no matter how logical that assumption was because of customer safety in mind. When I asked to be sat inside I even said, “If I was told I was being led to sit outside, I would have said something so the girl didn’t have to walk me all the way out there for nothing, I feel bad”, and I was just met with a blank confused stare. I waited for another text, was finally seated, and our waitress came and at first seemed lovely. We ended up not opting to buy alcohol and the moment we declined on alcohol drinks, the mood of the waitress shifted from very peppy and kind to a sour attitude. We got our food fairly quickly after ordering, but so quick it started the thought process of “are we being rushed?”. We ate our food, talked, and took a reasonable amount of time, but throughout sitting and eating, we were interrupted very periodically by “is everything all good here”. That’s great and necessary in a restaurant setting but we were actively eating and enjoying our time. There were tables around us that were not getting the same excessive visits and there was even a table that were already sat and drinking before we even got to our table and didn’t get the same treatment. We actually left before them because we got very uncomfortable. I asked for the bill and a couple to go boxes, and even the waitress was like “you want a box for that?” referring to my small portion of rice and beans as if it was an issue. When she brought the device to pay, she actually watched as we put in our tips and I felt pressured to tip more than what she deserved- mind you, I’m a generous tipper if you give me good service; like 25% plus. When we were done paying, we weren’t even offered receipts, and we still had to pack our food. We were still having our conversation cause we didn’t opt to leave because we were done eating, we opted because we were made to feel rushed. The waitress comes back, asks if all was good and aggressive started grabbing the dishes. Mid sentence we gathered our things silently and left. The waitress said absolutely nothing to us. I’m not sure if it was because we were colored (the majority of the clientele were not people of color) or if it was just bad service as a whole, but this was just...

I decided to celebrate my birthday here because it seemed like an excellent place, it's a shame that the effort made by the owner and the waiters to provide good service is damaged by a person who abuses his "authority", a week before I made a reservation for 20 people at 8:30 pm, when we arrived at the place our table was not yet there, which did not bother us because we understand that in this season everything is full, everything started to turn bad when they decided to sit us at separate tables and told us that we have We had to wait for another table to finish to be able to organize our table, when the table finished it lasted 10 minutes without anyone cleaning it, we ourselves had to move the tables to organize ours, even so we all understood why the restaurant was full, the The problem is that if a place has a menu with specific prices, the only thing I expect is that they charge me what the menu says, the menu clearly says that on Taco Tuesday the margaritas are $7 dollars, at the time of paying our account we noticed that they are charging us more for the drinks, we notified our waitress that we do not agree with this I still paid my check to avoid problems since my mood was celebratory then the manager approaches me in an aggressive and rude manner tell us that they are not going to charge us what the menu says but the “new” price that they never notified us, while members of my table are discussing this with ADAM the “administrator” I leave the table with a friend to go to the bar to buy a drink, this guy ADAM yells at me in front of everyone, judging me that I am going to leave without paying and sends a police officer to follow me throughout the restaurant, making me understand that I had not paid when I had already paid my bill yet. So when they charged me more for my drinks, since ADAM made a fool of himself with this attitude, his decision was to tell the police that they were a private place and that they were not going to sell me anything else and I had to go with my group, no. I am the type of person who looks for problems to not pay the bill, obviously it is their fault for having a false price on the menu, even so this is not the problem, my problem is the way ADAM treated us as if we were thieves and the misuse of the law, one cannot use the police to try to intimidate a group of people for trying to solve an internal error of the restaurant, the police are not there for that, this person should not be working here otherwise It is capable of providing good customer service, the place is incredible, with great energy, but having this type of people in charge damages all the good things, I suggest having in this position people who are a little more kind and intelligent who can solve this type of problems in a cordial way, ADAM threw away all the efforts of our waitress to provide excellent service, he believes that this affected us but in reality it affected his work group since for obvious reasons he was not going to...

We me and my boyfriend have been to Rocco’s Tacos 3 times at this location and 3rd time is not a charm in this case. The first experience we had was wonderful. The food was great. The server was great. Everything was perfect. The second time we visited, I found a piece of a kitchen dish towel in my fajitas. It took the manager 25 minutes to come over and talk to me only to tell me that he comped my queso. There was nothing wrong with the queso. There was a dish towel in my fajitas. He then asked me what I wanted him to do and I said I want you to take off the fajitas due to there being a dirty dish towel in the fajitas. The third time we visited on a Tuesday night after Mickey’s not so scary Halloween party we checked in at the hostess stand and asked for a booth. There were only three tables that were occupied. She said let me check and see if I have a booth. The restaurant was almost completely empty. She returns to tell us she has a booth and that they are on a very limited menu with eight items.

Our server came over and asked what we would like to drink ordered a Coke with no ice and an iced tea and some queso with vegetables. While my boyfriend was in the restroom, washing his hands, the server comes back to the table with an iced tea and says this is the only iced tea I was able to find in the entire restaurant so here’s a glass of ice. Maybe he can stretch the ice tea out long enough to get through his meal, oh, and by the way, we are out of queso.

You have eight items on your late night menu and the hostess didn’t know you were out of queso and the server didn’t know you were out of queso until they checked with the kitchen and you have eight items on your late night menu?

The manager that I spoke with on my second visit to Rocco‘s tacos about the dish towel in my fajitas was the same manager that was here the night that they had one glass of iced tea and no queso. The manager is horrible. The manager should know that they are out of queso, and that they have no more iced tea, and they should inform the servers and inform the hostesses that they don’t have any more ice tea and queso. The restaurant was supposed to be open until 2 AM. It was only 11:30 PM. How can you run out of queso with an hour and a half to be open and no one knew you were out of queso?

I want to like this restaurant, however I have given it three opportunities to prove it itself, and it has failed me not once but twice.

The manager that I encountered on my second and third visit I can’t remember his name. We were in on August 26, 2025 on a Tuesday at 11:30 pm so you should be able to figure out who was working.

The management at this location is horrible beyond horrible, Maybe he should look at another profession or maybe something a little bit slower pace like a Denny’s.

We will never ever return to this...

In the bustling heart of Orlando's vibrant dining scene, a star has emerged at Rocco's Tacos, an establishment already renowned for its delectable cuisine and lively atmosphere. Max, a waiter whose service transcends the conventional, has been quietly revolutionizing the dining experience for every patron he encounters. It's rare for a waiter to leave as indelible a mark as Max has managed to achieve, prompting this food journalist to take note and share with the city of Orlando how one individual's approach to service is changing lives. Max's approach to service is akin to a finely tuned performance, where every gesture and word is carefully calibrated for maximum impact. From the moment you are seated, Max's presence is felt; he possesses an intuitive understanding of his guests' needs, often anticipating requests before they are even voiced. His knowledge of the menu is impeccable, delivered with a passion and enthusiasm that elevates the dining experience from mere consumption to an educational journey. What sets Max apart is not just his efficiency and professionalism but his genuine warmth and empathy. Dining at Rocco's Tacos under Max's care, customers report feeling seen and valued, not just as patrons but as people. He remembers regulars by name, recalls their favorite dishes, and even notes personal details that they may have shared during previous visits. This personal touch has not only endeared him to many but has also created a sense of community and belonging among the restaurant's clientele. Max's influence extends beyond the confines of Rocco's Tacos. In a city as diverse and dynamic as Orlando, where the culinary scene is a crucial part of its identity, Max's dedication to his craft serves as a beacon of excellence. He embodies the spirit of hospitality at its finest, demonstrating that the heart of a memorable dining experience lies not just in the quality of the food but in the quality of the service. Through his work, Max is not just serving meals; he's crafting experiences that stay with diners long after they've left the restaurant. He's a testament to the profound impact that one individual's dedication, warmth, and excellence in service can have on the lives of others. In a world that often feels too hurried, Max reminds us of the joy found in genuine connections and the art of hospitality. His service is a gift, not just to the patrons of Rocco's Tacos but to the city of Orlando itself, setting a new standard for what it means to truly serve.

I have visited Rocco's several times for lunch, dinner and Cinco De Mayo block party. The drinks, staff and food is always good. Austin Queso with the vegetable dippers is probably my favorite item on the menu. The tableside house-made guacamole is of course fresh and delicious, it is a must. There are plenty of vegetarian options, as well as Gluten Free and a few Vegan options. Margarita options are plentiful. I recommend getting ones with Teremana tequila. Taco Tuesdays have $25 all you can eat taco specials and half off the house Margaritas. Additionally, you can add a flavor for $3 to the margarita. We went with Prickly Pear. You can not upgrade the tequila with this special. While I have gotten the market vegetable quesadilla twice now, I forget how much I dislike the flavors of the vegetables they use. I'd say the vegetables they use are meant for a Pasta dish, especially since actual pasta was in my quesadilla this last time I went. If the weather isn't suffocating, as it can be in Florida, I'd recommend sitting out on the porch. If rain starts to come in, they do have plastic covers they pull down to protect guests and the tables. It does sit up against a body of water and can be a gorgeous view. Patio will not be as loud as inside the main dining area is. The whole place can and will get quite loud. I would say this is NOT family friendly in the evenings, but would be good for a weekday lunch. There is a bar inside with seating and also an outdoor bar at the main entrance. Our waitress, Melissa, was incredible! One of the things I did notice when we went to pay though is the suggested tip on the paper receipt was actually less than the suggested tip on the handheld device they have you check out on despite both saying the same percentage. I thought that was extremely misleading. While Melissa herself was incredible and deserved the tip (and she isn't who did our payments), I didn't think that was the best practice. I don't recall checking out on a handheld during previous visits but I do wonder how many times that's now happened to me and others without us realizing.

While the atmosphere was enjoyable, the overall dining experience was marred by average food and service, and excessively long wait times. I would only recommend this place to individuals who don't mind crowded and noisy environments. Let's start with the positives—the ambiance at Rocco's Tacos is vibrant and lively. The decor is tasteful, creating a festive atmosphere that is perfect for social gatherings or casual get-togethers. The restaurant has a vibrant energy, which adds to the overall experience. However, it's important to note that if you prefer a more relaxed and quieter setting, this might not be the ideal place for you. Regrettably, the quality of the food did not match the ambiance. The menu offered a decent variety of Mexican-inspired dishes, but the execution left much to be desired. The food was average at best, lacking the authentic flavors and boldness that one would expect. While some dishes were passable, others were underwhelming, failing to deliver on the promised taste and presentation. Service was another area that fell short. While the staff members were generally polite, their efficiency left something to be desired. The wait times were excessively long, even during less busy periods. It felt as though the restaurant was understaffed, resulting in delays and a lack of attention to customers' needs. If you can endure the hustle and bustle, Rocco's Tacos might be worth a visit. However, if you prefer a more intimate dining experience or have a low tolerance for noise, it's best to look elsewhere. The high level of noise and crowded space can make it difficult to have a peaceful conversation or enjoy a relaxed meal. In conclusion, Rocco's Tacos offers a lively atmosphere but falls short in terms of food quality, service efficiency, and excessively long wait times. While it may suit those seeking a vibrant and energetic environment, individuals looking for exceptional cuisine, prompt service, and a quieter setting may be better off exploring other options in town.
