McDonald's launched new and improved quarter pounder burger a few years ago stating that they are "cooked to order". I have been to this location enough time to know that they do not practice this. They cook in advance to send them out the window not to McDonald's standards. When I received mine yesterday, the cheese was not melting. If cooked to order, the cheese should be melted and would be too hot to eat, seeing plenty of steam.
When I handed then the burger back, they quickly responded stating that it is fresh. They started to chatter amongst themselves making it obvious that they were talking about it. Made me feel like it was wrong for me to say something. This leads me to believe that they don't get a lot of complaints and Dubliners do not say anything and take what they get.
When they finally agree to remake it, all that did was put an already cooked patty and put it on the grill just to heat it up. You can tell by looking at the texture of the burger being over-charred and dry. Granted it was hot, but they still didn't do what they should have. Should have just cooked a new patty and served.
Also, the restaurant dining room was not open at 7:45p on Sunday. This was acceptable a year or so ago, but now, it's just poor management to allow the dining room to be closed. I hate going through drive thru for the reason mentioned above, I like to make sure food is right before leaving.
Tdlr, Some locations follow McDonald's processes and procedures and some don't. This location is obviously not if the food is not hot when sent...
Read moreA few weeks ago I was getting my taxes checked by H&R Block before electronically filing them when I decided to hit the Golden Arches. As I walked in the lobby, there was what appeared to me to be a mature married couple sitting.next to the door eating their lunch and there was a single adult male, and Mom & Dad and a child of 5 or 6 years of age in front of me. The crew was doing their jobs and they were cranking out the burgers, fries and those wonderful chicken nuggets. Anyway, after I received my food, the married folks had left so I sat down where they had been sitting. And before I could take my first bite a female person came out of the kitchen and informed me in a rather gruff unpleasant way that the dining room was closed and that I would have to exit the building. I didn't argue, I got up gathered my late lunch and headed out the door. Why do some people get privileges that are denied to the rest of us? I ride a bike. No car, no picnic tables so I used the top of a garbage can as an impromptu dining table and ate in what is my opinion the best hamburger in the entire world, Double Quarter Pounder with cheese, Chicken McNuggets, small fries and the best soft drink, Coca Cola. McDonald's just started their first big growth spurt when I was 5 or 6 years old. And Mom and Dad would take me to McDonald's for a special treat. Over a half century later, it is still a special treat to go to McDonald's. I hope you have fond memories and still like the food. I know I do. McDonald's is my kind of place. Enjoy my...
Read moreThis McDonald's, like most, is hit or miss. It used to be better, using your phones for ordering or deals was much more understood by staff, and management was nicer.
They apologized to their customers when an issue arose, and sometimes gave them something for their trouble. Your app timed out on a deal because they couldn't figure out the thing? Their response? Tough luck. Oh we messed up and your order is the person in front of you, also screwing up because they can't properly get the item that's for discount using your deal on your phone, making you wait over 15 minutes in the drive through with only one person in front of you? No sorry, no actual effort put in, and looking at my receipt, I never got that deal. They added back something that cost $2.99 after taking off something that cost the same.
This place can be good, at the right times, but they will screw up every single app order or deal, and I can never get them to do right. Go to the one on the interstate if you're travelling, it's better, otherwise this place is serviceable. Nothing more, nothing less, expect regular problems of not getting your order quite right, and expect they can't for the life of them figure out how to work an app that they used to be perfect at...
