Where to begin - We asked for a quote from Home Depot as we needed to replace the carpet on 2 levels of our home. The first measurer who came out missed some things that I caught after they emailed a quote to me so they had to send another guy out to remeasure. When they sent me the second quote it had the wrong carpet on it so they had to re-do it again. I wish we would have walked away at that point but everyone makes mistakes so we let them continue. We were now more than 2 weeks into the process and finally had a valid quote that actually looked pretty attractive considering the "free" installation, "free" furniture moving, among other things stated in the agreement. When we chose to accept the proposal we were contacting by Kimber who let us know they were 6 weeks out to install, not convenient but understandable. She was very pushy and informed us that she was only scheduling the installers for one day and that we should have all of the rooms completely cleared for them because they "really aren't furniture movers anyway". What? We are a hard working couple in our mid-fifties so our backs aren't what they used to be but we wanted to make sure everything was done since we had a houseful of relatives coming the following weekend so we moved every bit of furniture and everything from all of the rooms out onto our 2 decks. I even pulled up some of the carpet. Seth, the installer was rude from the second I greeted him at the front door. He acted like he had a hot date at 3:00 or something and all he wanted to do was the bare minimum he had to and get out as fast as possible. He told me he wouldn't have time to do the stairs and they would have to schedule another day to do them. When I called Kimber she said the very soonest they could come back would be July 13th, exactly 4 weeks away! There was no compassion whatsoever and no apologies for the inconvenience. I said I can't wait that long and will have to hire someone else to do the stairs so I wanted a partial refund for the stairs and for us not getting the free furniture moving as stated in the agreement. She refused. We were already 2 months into this thing and they wanted to now delay another month. Seth left the carpet and pad with me for the stairs and headed on his way. So to recap: 1) Multiple botched estimates and quotes 2) They did not touch one piece of furniture or other of our possessions, 3) Did not do our steps even though it was in the bid and we moved all of the furniture for them so it could get done in one day 4) Rude installer with absolutely no people skills 5) Left a horrible mess 6) Refused to refund any money even though they did not fill their end of the agreement. I must say Seth's assistant was fantastic, hard working, pleasant, and friendly. It's too bad he's working with a guy who couldn't care less about pleasing the customer or doing the right thing as agreed. ...
Read moreI personally didn't have a great experience but I'm sure the way I was treated isn't the norm. I had a curbsude pickup order and arrived at Home Depot a little after 7pm which apparently they don't do the curbside pickup after 7pm which I wasn't aware of and this wasn't posted anywhere for me to know. The Home Depot app wasn't working so I had to call the number they provided on the sign. When I called the phone rang for well over a minute and finally someone answered the phone it was an older woman and she yelled at me for calling about curbside pick-up since it was past 7pm as if I should've known better and then she informed me that if I wanted my order I would need to go inside. Once inside I stood at customer service for some time before I was even acknowledged and there were 3 employees back there you think one of them could have at least acknowledged that I was standing there even if they were busy with something. They weren't busy helping customers that's for sure. I realize they have other things to do as well. I'm sure they were getting ready to close for the night but to ignore a customer that's standing there for that long was just rude. Then the older woman who was rude to me on the phone finally acknowledged me but she wasn't very nice in person either. She definitely had an attitude and informed me that I was interrupting them from working on something very important. Then she had a young man come up and finish helping me and he couldn't find my order so I stood there and waited for over 15 minutes with a toddler. He asked the woman for some help finding my order and she wouldn't help him. My toddler started acting up which is why I didn't want to go in the store in the first place and she kept giving me these nasty looks. I've never felt so unwanted at a store in my entire life but she made it very clear that I had inconvenienced her and she didn't appreciate it. I don't care if the store was closing or not. I didn't deserve to be...
Read moreI purchased several home kitchen appliances totaling over $5,400 on 03 Jun 22. Of the four items, 3 were advertised within a 30 day time period for lower prices, totaling over $450. I asked the Home Depot Manager for a price adjustment, which he denied, basically saying you’re on your own, we have a sale going on now. The items were delivered on 01 Jul 22. At the time of purchase , I was told that they would not install the dishwasher, the refrigerator would be placed and leveled, the over the range microwave would be installed (for an additional $145), & the range would be place & leveled. When delivered, I was told their drill broke & they couldn’t install anything. The items were put into my home, the installers did plug in the refrigerator, & removed most of it’s protective plastic, but did not level it, nor assemble the handle, etc. the dishwasher arrived damaged. I went to Home Depot the following day to discuss all of the above with them, with their final resolution being a refund of the installation fee, and a replacement for the dishwasher (which I will need to wait for an additional 30 days for). After spending over $4,500 for the items & then having them selling at lower costs, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to request an equitable adjustment, especially given all the events which has interrupted, stopped, & delayed my project. In my opinion, Home Depot is very poorly operated & managed. In the future, I will take my business to a...
