I had a horrible experience at this location. The food was good but the staff is extremely rude and disrespectful. I paid for my meal as takeout . T he cashier May have had a language barrier, which is fine, but she gave me the to go containers and charge me accordingly.

The general manager and a hispanic female manager followed me to the bar and watched me closely. although it was uncomfortable, I proceeded to get my food. When I asked for a bag and silverware The general managerharassed me and then try to go up on the price after I had already paid for my meal. I explained to them that I was never told the food price would change as The GM told her what to charge me from the initial sale.. The general managers, yelled at me and said you’re not gonna waste our food and you’re not taking anything out of here and prevented me from going out the door. I felt threatened because he was bigger and taller than I was, He was very aggressive and embarrassed me in front of a number of Customers. A Hispanic manager came from the back and. made very rude comments to me. I explained to her that an older lady was with me and I was trying to get some additional vegetables for her. She told me she didn’t care anything about the older lady. I was appalled by this comment. This was unbelievable and I could not believe what was happening. I didn’t want any problems so kindly I asked for my money back and told them they could just take the food back because I didn’t want any problems. The GM yelled at me and said no! You’re not wasting our food!

These people do not need to be in Customer Service at all especially the GM. He’s very arrogant and is a bully and was standing over the cashier micromanaging her. The poor lady look very scared that was a first and last time I will ever go to that location. I do not recommend this place at all. They are stereotypical and isolate certain guess. It was a very degrading experience. I will be contacting a representative for the way I was handled. They created a hostile environment for me and I felt threatened by the gm ‘s behavior. he took my money and made me leave the restaurant...

Hiii everybody!

Omg, I haven’t been here in forever—literally 15 years! I was in Duluth and saw a remodeling sign out front, so my brother and I decided to check it out. First things first—big parking lot, so no stress finding a spot.

Walking in was a little confusing since there wasn’t really any guidance—just some drink fountains sitting at the entrance. We got there around 5 PM, and dinner pricing was about $17.59 per person (after tax, around $20 each). Once we paid, we just found our own table—yep, seat yourself type of spot. Our server, Sunny, greeted us, and she was so sweet!

Let’s talk about the food:

Plate 1: Nachos, potatoes & cheese, fried okra, buffalo chicken bites – 7/10 • Buffalo bites were dry • Potatoes & cheese had zero flavor • Okra & nachos were decent

Plate 2: Cilantro rice, baked fish, mashed potatoes, meatloaf, cabbage & Brussels sprouts, garlic cheese biscuits – 5/10 • The rice was hard as rocks • Baked fish had no flavor • Meatloaf & mashed potatoes? So good • Cabbage & Brussels sprouts were a nice surprise • Garlic cheese biscuits looked like Red Lobster’s but tasted dry & bland

Plate 3: Fried fish, fried shrimp, hush puppies, crab cakes, potato salad, coleslaw – 6/10 • Fried fish with tartar sauce? A win • Hush puppies were extra crispy (borderline over-fried) • Crab cakes? Just okay

Plate 4: Made my own salad & got steak (medium well) – 10/10

Plate 5: Had to run it back for round 2 of my salad & steak – 10/10 again!

Plate 6: Ice cream with caramel & New York cheesecake – 1/10 • Yeah… no. Just weird.

Final thoughts: • Would I come back? Yes—for the steak & salad. • The place was clean—employees were walking around wiping down tables and food stations. • Restrooms? 7/10—clean but had a weird smell. • Everything else? Some hits, some misses, but overall decent.

Recap:

When you walk in, grab your drink, pay at the cashier, seat yourself, and a server will stop by for your drink order. After that, it’s all-you-can-eat, so go crazy. The inside looks really nice now, so if you’re in the area, it’s worth...

I wish I could give them zero stars but it won't let me. After paying our bill and looking for a table, a staff member told us we had to wait, despite several unoccupied tables. He insisted (with an attitude) that we had to wait until our entire party arrived, which was extremely frustrating. We were left standing there with our drinks—without even a tray to hold them—while trying to juggle five drinks and plates.

Then, another staff showed up, who I assume was a manager, and when I asked about this, his attitude was unprofessional - raised his voice at customers in the middle of the restaurant which was completely unacceptable. It was clear both of them were confrontational and unwilling to assist us properly.

To make matters worse, the counter was out of drink specifically Coke and tray, and a broom and dustpan were left by a table. I repeatedly asked the waitstaff to move them, but they ignored me. I made sure to ask nicely, but it seemed like they were deliberately avoiding us. I thought I was invisible.

When we left, we saw a long line of people waiting to get in, which made me wonder if the service issues were due to being overwhelmed. They lost five customers today, including me and my company; we won't be going back anyway, but this kind of behavior is something the corporation has to be involved in and investigate.

This happened on September 8, 2024, around 1 PM. I hope the corporate office sees this and takes action to address...

Golden Corral is a baseline for a 3 star restaurant. If you know what to get, you can satisfy your cravings and get good value. Prices for dinner have risen, for one adult and a foundation drink it's pretty much $20. I'd probably stop by for cheaper breakfast/lunch instead. Service was nice and they checked up on us to pick up plates or refill drinks. The ambiance is exactly like it was a decade ago. Sadly a lot of locations closed but this Duluth one is still going strong. Purely food based review: The Meats - Definitely the highlight value. Get the steak, get the roast beef, get the aunties fried chicken, get the bourbon chicken, and the new beer battered fish! The Carbs - Some are better than others. I love the Cajun pasta, the mashed potatoes & gravy, the roasted potatoes and occasionally the Mac & Cheese or Dirty Rice. Get it fresh if you can. The Sides - Honestly the only ones I liked are hush puppies and the dinner rolls. Everything else like the fries, chips and other fried goods tasted pretty stale. The Salad/Soup Bar - Pretty fresh and a lot of options. Their broccoli cheese soup is comparable to Panera. A hack I like to do is get some fried chicken and recreate a Cobb salad from CFA. The Dessert Bar - Honestly the most disappointing. I only recommend getting a slice of cake or an ice cream cone. The smaller bites are either too sweet or not good. They had a slushie machine but it wasn't frozen enough at all.

The first horrible restaurant experience I've ever felt in my life. Today I visited this restaurant with my mom for the first time. We paid first and looking for the sit. After we found the table to sit before I sat down and an Asian server named "sally" held my mom and asked her to show her the receipt with an angry look. My senior mother forgot where she had just left the receipt and the server woman just repeated, "receipt!!" and "receipt!" We felt like thieves and she took us to the counter and asked Grandma cashier if these people paid and the cashier said “yes they just paid” and Asian server told us "go eat" after getting it checked. I felt so bad that I asked her “why did you was checking our receipts” and she said the word "policy," and said “what’s wrong” “what’s wrong” 4 times….. but I didn't hear her say sorry. I never asked her to call the manager, but manager came in and he also never said sorry and he said “We check everyone's receipts" in a sarcastic way. If it's their policy, I think they should ask the customer for the receipt with a polite sentence. Think about it. How would you feel if you went to a restaurant and suddenly someone shouted "receipt!" and offered a hand? I will never visit the restaurant again. It is just a cheap restaurant. So so cheap. Cheap food cheap employees. I wouldn't be the only one to know this problem.
