Tucked away in a quiet strip mall off of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, Oystra Sushi & Kitchen is truly a hidden gem that every sushi lover needs to discover. From the moment I stepped inside, I was welcomed with warm smiles and a cozy, intimate atmosphere. The decor strikes a perfect balance between modern elegance and traditional charm, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed dining experience.
I started my meal with one of the best-kept secrets of Oystra Sushi & Kitchen: their happy hour oyster special. These oysters were fresh, succulent, and an absolute steal. Itās a fantastic addition to their already impressive menu and a delightful way to kick off the meal.
Next, I warmed up with the clam chowder soup. This hearty soup was rich and creamy, filled with tender clams and perfectly seasoned. It was the perfect way to prepare for the sushi delights to come.
Following the soup, I indulged in the lobster tempura. The lobster was perfectly cooked, encased in a light, crispy batter that added just the right amount of crunch. The combination of the tender lobster meat and the delicate tempura coating was simply divine.
The highlight of the evening was the toro sashimi. This delicacy perfectly hits the palate with its buttery texture and rich, umami flavor. Each bite literally melts in your mouth, leaving a lingering taste that is both luxurious and unforgettable. Itās a must-try for anyone visiting Oystra Sushi & Kitchen.
I ended my meal with the unagi rolls. These rolls were perfectly rolled, with the eel cooked to perfection and glazed with a sweet, savory sauce. The balance of flavors and textures in each bite was impeccable, making it a standout dish on the menu. The service at Oystra Sushi & Kitchen is nothing short of exceptional. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about ensuring a memorable dining experience.
Overall, Oystra Sushi & Kitchen exceeded all my expectations. The quality of the food, the impeccable service, and the charming, intimate atmosphere make it a must-visit. Itās a hidden gem that deserves to be celebrated, and I canāt wait to return and explore more of their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been a loyal customer of this restaurant for over 2.5 years and have always had great things to say. Unfortunately, my recent visit was a complete disappointment, both in terms of customer service and food quality.
To start, when I asked the waitress a simple question about a menu item, she responded in a condescending manner, making me feel as though I was asking something unreasonable. I placed our order, which she triple-checked, yet our entrees still came out incorrect. When I pointed this out, she insisted she had input it correctlyāeven though everyone at our table confirmed that I had ordered something different.
The service was chaotic. Our entrees came out before the appetizers, and one of the complimentary apps was completely missed. We had to repeatedly remind staff to bring out the others. The sashimi was served without wasabi or ginger, and the fish clearly lacked freshnessāsome pieces seemed frozen, not fresh. We waited at least 40 minutes for our entrees, which came out at different times. My brother and friends didnāt receive theirs for another 20 minutes after mine, and again, we had to keep checking in with the staff.
The oysters were extremely disappointingāfishy, poorly seasoned, and not fresh. The tempura batter was undercooked and still had raw flour inside, which is unacceptable.
To top it off, the overall service was very poor. I had to constantly flag staff down to remind them about our food. When we were ready to pay, it took another 20 minutes to get our check. I even walked up to remind our server, only to be told to sit back down and wait until she was less busy.
Iāve never had to leave a review like this before, but after this experience, I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously. I will not be returning unless the old...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreADDENDUM: Iāve been to Oystra twice since my initial review; New Yearās Eve and a friendās 30th Birthday. Both times, the food was as delicious and beautiful as our first visit and the staff went out of their way to make us feel special. Mahalo, Oystra Staff.
Oystra, this Korean-owned sushi and Japanese dining experience, is under new ownership and even better than all the rave reviews itās been getting on Google and Yelp. The fish is fresh, the dishes are delicious, and the executive chef is truly an artist. I havenāt seen this kind of presentation in Japanese dining since I was in Osaka in 2019-2020. And no wonder. When the owner visited our table, he said he had done his culinary training in Tokyo. Our server recommended the toro since the restaurant had very recently bought a large section of blue fin tuna so it was extremely fresh. We werenāt disappointed. It was deliciously fresh and the fat content of the fish gave it the required buttery texture that you expect. We went for one of the $50 complete meals and they are big enough to feed two. It came with miso soup, tobiko rice, salad, and so many appetizer items I almost canāt remember them all. Oystra is a great place for any of your celebrations because the artistry involved in the plating of the dishes contributes to the specialness of your occasion. It was my wifeās 65th Birthday and they made it so we wonāt ever forget our dining experience at Oystra. I only hope it doesnāt get too...
