Looked up "breakfast place near me" and this place popped up, so we gave it a try. It was OK. The inside was much nicer than the outside appearance. The restaurant is inside a worn down shopping strip, but the inside has been renovated and has a crisp white modern look to it. Very Instagram worthy and a place where you can stop by and have a nice lunch with a couple of friends. It does feel a bit too open and sterile when you first walk in, but feels a bit less intimidating once you sit down into one of their booths. The service was mediocre. The only waitress there was nice but not thorough. We had to call her every time we needed something because she didn't check up on us during our visit. She would come to the table only to bring out what we ordered. Our food took extremely long to come out so I figured there might of been a shortage of employees... and I was right. The owner, or manager, came out while we were eating and apologized for the delay in receiving our meal due to a labor shortage and said our meal was on the house because we shouldn't of had waited as long as we did. It was very kind of him and we offered to pay anyway and he reduced our bill to half. The food is your typical diner food. We had coffee (very weak), eggs, bacon (good cuts), hash browns (weren't fried enough, but I liked that they weren't oily), toast, grits (yummy), French toast (not the best), sausage, pancakes (very good!), and breakfast tacos (store bought Mission type flour tortillas, big No-no). We didn't get to try the biscuits (which looked big and fluffy) or the lunch menu. Nothing really stood out as unique from the menu, nor the taste, other than really good pancakes 🥞. Prices were higher than expected for the location and size of the establishment. The bathrooms were clean and pristine. Overall the place was just OK. I recommend the pancakes with bacon if you happen to stop by. A lady next to us ordered a biscuit breakfast sandwich and looked absolutely delicious, but can't say for sure. Take a cute selfie while you're...
Read moreThis place is a little hidden gem in Duncanville. It's a small place in a corner spot of a strip shopping center. If you don't know it's there, you'll probably never know it's there, but it's definitely worth seeking out!!
First of all, the service was amazing. Kelly was my server and not only was she bright and friendly, she made sure my coffee was always filled and that I enjoyed my food, but she didn't hover. She also recommended the special of the day, which I ended up getting.
Secondly, the food was yummy. The fried porkchops were so tender I didn't even need a knife 😍 . I got the black eyed peas and macaroni and cheese as well. I also ended up getting the blackberry pie and ice cream, which was the perfect end to my lunch. And everything came out quickly, which was perfect since I was on my lunch break and had limited time.
Lastly, the price. They are the best priced restaurantI have been to in a LONG time. I didn't even have to spend a full 13 dollars for everything.
Due to all that, I will MOST DEFINITELY be making...
Read moreNew owner now, so wanted to check it out as have been happy with past owner Brian. We (husband &I) arrived appx 11:45am, we were verbally greeted, sat ourselves at small 2person table.Several empty tables so did not appear busy when we arrived. Then waited few minutes for drink order, got our drinks timely, then waited several more minutes to get menu, then several more minutes to place food order. After placing our food order, 2 separate couples came in&sat in same area. The last of those 2 couples received their food first, then other couple received their food. We still had not received our food. First couple that came behind us had 1 other person join them & all 3 of them were sharing 1 entree - so K&J not getting much $ from them . It is now 30 minutes since we entered & we still have no food . Waitress apologized&did not have explanation & comped our beverage - coffee & soda. Waitress was polite & appeared to be overworked (only 1 waitress) It will be awhile...
