MrJims.Pizza — Restaurant in Duncanville

I don’t know why my son’s name came up when the account is in my name but my name is Mary and I am the one leaving the review.

Mr. Jim’s pizza is usually delicious and has always been perfect in the past. However, the last two orders we have placed have been unsatisfactory to say the least.

The first time was a few weeks ago. We get the order home and my garden salad is lettuce. Only lettuce. So I said okay maybe someone forgot to add the the veggies. Then I realized they didn’t give me the ranch to go on my lettuce. So at this point I’m getting a little frustrated but agin, Mr. Jim’s is usually on point so I thought ok, they are having an off day at Mr. Jim’s. Then we get to the pizza and the pizza is burned. The crust didn’t have the garlic Parmesan crust like we ordered. It was plain. We agreed that this day was just a fluke. We ate it and moved on.

Today we order Mr. Jim’s again and granted they said I could still place an order at 8:50, they close at 9pm. So I was really happy. As we were driving home I realized they didn’t give me a item from my order. At this time they are closed so I can’t call or go back to get it so I just go home disappointed because I’m now remembering last order. Sure enough we get home and the pizza is burned again (photo added). I am really disappointed in Mr. Jim’s. I don’t know what is going on but y’all need to get it together. I’m sure I am not the only customer this is happening too.

My family is worried we will not order from Mr. Jim’s again. I’m sure we will but I will be sure to check the order for all my items and check the quality of the food before I leave the store...

So I gave this location another try and I was even more disappointed than the 1st time. Ordered online and 20 minutes later got a call they were having oven issues and couldn't make the cinnastix so they could swap it for "brownie bites", so I reluctantly approved. Then by the time the pizza should have been arriving I get another call that due to oven issues they can't make the pizza I ordered but they can do things crust. I was going to cancel the order altogether but my husband said that it was fine. My problem with this was they went ahead and made the pizzas thin crust before we approved and the delivery was on it's way already. I know because they were knocking at the door a few minutes later. My next issue was the pizza was cooked uneven, over cooked in most areas to the point of dark brown/burned looking cheese, it was dry like no sauce was used and I couldn't tell the Sticky Fingers from the Better Cheddar Burger pizza. The so called brownie bites, which was actually one brownie that was about 3 x 3 in. were obviously frozen previously because they were extremely cold and you could tell they hadn't quite thawed completely. It was very shady to handle the situation like they did so not to risk me canceling the order. I could have made a better frozen pizza from the store!! I wish I had taken pictures to post with this review. Wait ya'll! They knew they screwed up because they come emailing me a coupon for cinnastix. But guaranteed I will never order from them...

Update: I really want to like this place. I like to toasted subs and pizza. I buy there multiple times per month. But have a serious problem getting the order right amd cooked properly. I just picked up a sub. Picture attached. Turkey is no where on my order. It should be canadian bacon. Really? The nacho Stix are borderline burnt but still passable. Not in the good or great category. Oh and they threw in onions and mayo which I did not order, did not want and do not like. Actually I am allergic to raw onions. They have to be cooked. So the sandwich is going in the trash. Did they even read the sandwich order or just throw together what they wanted.

Update: I had a chat with the owner. Plus I placed another order. This one was much better and the owner took steps so hopefully this wont happen again.

The chain has great food. This location is very unpredictable. It could be great or bad. It depends on who they have in the back on any given day. The previous order had to be remade. This last order was mixed. The pizza was great. The sandwich was poor. It was supposed to be 'toasty'. I have had their sandwiches before and they are usually what I order. This one was more like 'charcoaly' and burnt. They had to know it was burnt when they wrapped it up. But rather than remake it they decided it was...
