Rocking Crab Duncanville — Restaurant in Duncanville

Update: Since the pandemic, the flavor at this place has changed drastically. I’ve gone the at least 5 times and despite explicate directions, it tastes nothing like it did before. It used to come with lemons I haven’t had lemons in my order since March. Yesterday I asked for them and they agreed to add them but when I received the order there were no lemons. I am convinced that whatever quality ingredients they used in the past must no longer be available to them since COVID. Either that or they just decided to cut corners and maximize profits. Sadly I will have to begin the search for a new seafood spot.

Excellent!! I checked this place out tonight and I was not disappointed. This is certainly the best seafood boil I’ve found in the metroplex. They do the saucey kind In the bag. I got the number 8 with crab, shrimp and crawfish. The rocking sauce, I think it was called (the one that is a mixture of all the sauces), was excellent! We went back for more and more and spent like 3 hours in this place. The food is great but my only complaints would be that the place is not that aesthetically appealing, not warm or welcoming. It’s not very clean either. Because the patrons here are often walking around with sauce on their hands may surfaces, like water and soda buttons on the fountain and the edge of the bathroom door near the knob are very dirty. Also the staff is friendly, but there are signs everywhere to encourage tipping and after you pay $40 for food you really don’t want to tip if all they do is take your order and deliver it to your table. The biggest thing that bothered me on this trip was how inconsistent the sauce was. Our first order had this thick delicious sauce that would cling to everything we dipped in it. On our second order we selected the same sauce but it was much thinner and less tasty . On our third order it was thick again. I would hate to have paid what I did and for them to mess up the sauce. The establishment's pricing structure appears to be disproportionately high in relation to the quality of the food and service provided. Despite multiple opportunities to improve, the establishment has consistently failed to meet expectations. The corn served is always mushy and the shrimp were not properly cleaned, with every shrimp still containing fecal matter, which is not only unappetizing but also a potential health hazard. Additionally, the young man working as a cashier demonstrated a lack of knowledge and assertiveness. Came to the restaurant with my family for a late birthday dinner and was turned away. I will not ever come back! When i walked in with my family, i was told that the time on the door was wrong and they closed in 45 min, so I could only take it to go. They stated that the time on yhe door and online was wrong.
