We drove by and saw the sign for "breakfast at 7:30" out front. As we got to the front door, it said closed until 8 on Saturdays. Ok, we went to our car to wait out the few minutes until opening. We came to the door at opening time and walked in to be completely ignored by what turned out to be a manager of some type. (She was telling other workers what to do). She totally ignored us and walked right by us. Do we seat ourselves? Do you seat us? Can you say good morning...hello....something? We weren't trying to rush anyone and the large sign did say 7:30. Anyway, another customer that is a regular came in and sat down. He got an orange garnish on his plate that he didn't want so he picked it up with his bare hands and gave it to the waitress (same manager lady I just spoke of). She loudly said...ok we'll place it back here and save it for the Sangria. HE TOUCHED IT WITH HIS HANDS!!! Sure enough she placed in on a plate on the counter to be used again. Later the same woman was cleaning, without gloves, and then threw the cleaning rag away and wiped her hands on her pants before returning to the food area. She did not wash her hands. This was all done in a spot where we could view. It makes us wonder what happens where we can't see. Our ketchup bottle has dried up ketchup oozing out of the top and twisted part on the lid. Like I said, we opened the place so how long was that left there? As we were leaving there was a person out back hosing down the grills and placing the brush he was using, directly on the ground in between cleanings. There was also a cleaning rag that was used for God only knows what placed on top of bushes. After getting in the car, I searched them online only to discover multiple recent violations. NOT SURPRISED! I have eaten here once before (sitting out front) and everything seemed ok. It's amazing what you see if you're inside I guess. NEVER AGAIN!!! Too many other great local places to choose from. I was very disappointed especially since I saw some...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFrom start to finish, our experience was terrible! We waited for 8 minutes outside at a sign that said wait to be seated. No one addressed my husband and I at all. We decided to go inside and just grab a table so that we could order. After having to ask for a breakfast menu, we ordered a waffle and the french toast with bacon. We waited over 30 minutes for our food, and the restaurant was not busy at all. When it finally came out, it was all COLD, not even luke warm. My waffle was so burnt on the edges, that it left char on my plate that mixed with the maple syrup when I cut it. It was also tasteless, like styrofoam. My husband choked down his cold french toast and I sent my waffle back. We never saw the waitress again, so we got up to go to the register to pay the bill. She charged us for the waffle that I sent back, and my husband inquired as to why it was still on our bill. The waitress told us she wasn't authorized to take it off the bill, and she would have to go in the back to speak with a manager. This manager never came out to apologize for our burnt, cold food, and he/she sent the waitress back out to take the waffle off the bill. I do not blame the waitress for our experience. I blame the kitchen for the lousy food, and the manager for not coming out to see if he/she could remedy the situation. We live in Dunedin, but we will NOT be returning to this restaurant nor recommending it to others. The manager showed very poor...

The 4 of us went to Marguerite's for brunch today looking forward to a lovely meal outside on the patio. It was not to be! First of all, we waited for at least 10 minutes to be seated when there were numerous open and clean tables available. Then, we sat and sat and sat waiting for someone...anyone...to pay attention to us for over 20 minutes! We tried numerous times to get the attention of one of the two servers until it was obvious they were trying to ignore us! The final straw was when they seated a gentleman right next to us and within minutes got him water, a place setting, and a menu. When we finally got up and asked to speak to the manager, who happened to be one of the servers, there was no apology or explanation. My husband has managed restaurants his entire life, and at one point we even owned one, so we can be very understanding if a restaurant is understaffed or has kitchen issues or whatever, but you have to tell us what's going on! Otherwise, you just look like an extremely poorly managed restaurant that cares nothing about its customers and could care less if 4 of them walk out after waiting 30 minutes...
