Pi Pizza Bar — Restaurant in Dunedin

We went to taste the Pizza here after reading so many Good Reviews.

The Pizza Slice was yummy and we tried the Cheese Slice.

Reasonably priced with a choice of toppings to choose from, we tried Pineapple and few other toppings.

Even though the Pizza was excellent and tasty, the Service was too Poor. I would give Minus 5 Star for the Service. We were served the Slice Pizza just warm enough and by the time we could eat that, it was cold.

Only Two Bartenders working at the Bar as well as serving the Tables. The Management should at least hire few more employees. It is disgusting to note that any food joints whether an upscale restaurant or small one, they expect Tips from the Guest but this kind of Service is a Waste of Money. Who would like to go out to eat cold food.

At least they should call the Customer's name to pick the food from the Counter just like a self service food court. But it's really disappointing.

Never will go there again. I don't mean to discourage something but at today's economic situation it's better Not to Tip in any Restaurants. The Management is really making a big chunk by paying paltry salary to the Employees in Restaurants saying that they could earn Tips. But they shouldn't be too greedy to have only handful of employees when the hall is full with Guests including the Bar.

Overall, even though the food was tasty, the delay in service made it feel junk.

This is an excellent pizza place! The service is quick & always relaxed. The pizzas are exactly what you want. Crust is buttery and legit homemade. Awesome.

Their white pizza (for example) with added pepperoni, and a side of red sauce to dip occasionally in equals a welcome edition to Dunedin's awesome places to eat. It's now my favorite pizza in this city. Seriously, try the white pizzas = yummy & garlic heaven.

Feels like a regular chill "no fuss" bar with a fairly decent & interesting beer selection. I love going here with friends and stuffing our faces. I even on occasion take over the jukebox for a song or two and play old dorky gothy Bauhaus songs - which amazingly partons have gotten up and danced!??? It's an everybody place. Fun.

Additionally, their simple cheese pizzas are perfect. Maybe add some roasted red pepper &/or mushrooms to add some extra tang. Can't go wrong.

Who's ever cooking those pizzas behind the scenes, knows what the hell they are doing. An enormous high-five to you! And high fives to the rest of the staff too!

Recommended pizza place,...

We were hoping for a great experience - we really were! But alas. The first issue was the music - it was sometimes painfully loud, and other times it was fine - it depended on what song was playing. When it was loud, it was almost too loud to talk. The staff did not turn it down until much later after our request. The second issue was the length of time it took to get our food. We waited a full hour for our entrees - or at least that was how long it took the first pizzas to come out. 15 minutes later the second pizzas came out. ANOTHER 15 minutes later the last pizza finally came out. Thirdly, the pizzas themselves were... okay. In general they were pretty tasty but several were burnt pretty badly on the bottom. The appetizer was mid (bread with dipping oil). The meatball sub was reported to be mediocre but the one who ordered it. Bottom line it looked like they had a good showing of regulars, but if our experience is typical, I doubt they'll be getting a lot of new regulars. I'm confident our extended family of 4 separate...
