Parking lot was moderately full, free of debris. Front entrance was clean and clear, no patrons waiting to be called for a table. General store portion was neat and clean, discount merchandise was set from recent holiday which was Easter. Items were stocked fully and neatly arranged. Bathrooms were neat and clean and stocked well. We used both mens and womens Dining floor was very messy as we walked to our table, both empty and non empty tables had debris Our waiter was Lane, very nice personality, neat and clean in appearance. He took our drink orders promptly and served promptly. We each ordered various iced tea drinks, lemon on the side and had asked for sweetner- it was not already on our table. We also ordered a breakfast plate, grilled chicken tender plate and a fried chicken breast plate. Our food order came right away, however, the server- not Lane, did not bring all of our food. We each agreed, the food was very good. Lane did a great job checking in with us various times during our meal This was our first time dining at this Dunn location. We would recommend giving this restaurant a try, easy on- off the highway
9/05/2025 Approx 6 pm My son and I had a very nice supper together This was my 2nd time at this Cracker Barrel location Quite a bit of construction happening in the area- however- the traffic was very mild to get here from the Erwin direction. Parking area was very clean, outside trash was neat and attended. We had no waiting period, they showed us to our table right away. Our waitress was attentive once we sat- however, she never came back to ask how our food was or refill my sons water or my iced tea. I had asked for unsweetened tea so I could sweeten it myself- however- my tea was already sweet! Our food came out almost immediately- one would have thought it was already on the plate to be heated by microwave! Our food was not served hot- so not sure what happened- we did receive it very quickly. Thursday the " special" for dinner choices was turkey- great offerering- yet at 6pm- ish, they were out?? Puzzled, the dining room was less than 1/2 full Restrooms were stocked and clean, merch for sale was well stocked. In the dining area- I usually see a manager overseeing the floor I did see him- however- he was busy giggling with his hired staff......the girls and not setting a good example by assisting where he could- like re- filling our drinks! We may or may not patron this location again Its a bit out of the way for our family for get togethers- Smithfield is more sensible...
Read moreCracker Barrel is a whole experience. It's not just a meal. As soon as you walk in the place you walk into the Old country store filled with everything from clothing to seasoned cast iron pans to a whole plethora of candy (including old timey country store candy like grandma had out at christmas every year) to toys galore for the kids and even old records and decorations. At christmas time the store is filled with christmas decorations (and I mean fancy)! It's a great place to kill the time while waiting for your table. Times zooms by and before you know it you're seated. Once you've been seated out comes the biscuits and cornbread and that alone you could make a meal of! They are out of this world! The menu is filled with plenty of options and there is not one thing I don't believe on there that I wouldn't be satisfied with. (Granted I am a little bias to old country cooking and I can't get enough of it) Take a look around and the whole restaurant is filled with old memorabilia that looks like it came straight out of my grandpa's old shop and that old barn he had that was filled with "junk"! It's beautiful. Look around and you will see anything from old oil cans and signs to old plows or pictures that were taken with the camera that spit a flash of fire when it took. I forgot to mention that if you get bored in the store while waiting to be seated or after your done with your meal and still want to chat with family or what not go outside to the front and have a seat in one of the beautiful rocking chairs and maybe play a game or two of checkers that is set out on the whiskey barrels in between the rocking chairs. Basically if you love good old country cooking and want to feel right at home or you want to experience a good southern down home experience for the first time you should definitely give cracker barrel a try. I'm sure you...
Read moreThis was DEFINITELY NOT our normal "CB" experience, and I can't say we would have stayed after our meal was brought out had it not been for our grandson begging for and wanting stuffed pancakes. His plate was the ONE out of four plates ($55) that looked semi-appealing. When my husband questioned the freshness of the sides on our plates, and the waitress asked if should she go see if they had better ones, she returned and I was told everything was like that, there was nothing fresher back there to replace it with. The corn had to have been in a pan since the start of the day because most of it was swiveling and brown, the mashed potatoes were delivered so dried out that they still held the shape of the bottom of the square pan they were in and fell apart into little particle like chunks when you stuck a fork in them, the mini confetti pancakes were more grease than pancake, and we were not asked even once if the children, or us come to think of it, needed refills on our beverages. You know things are bad when the youngest wouldn't touch his pancakes after the first bite, and after pulling the soggy pieces off the requested crispy bacon, refused to eat his bacon as well. Definitely not one of the finer Sunday evening dinners at Cracker Barrel. I will say, this waitress was hit with three or four tables seated back to back, but this particular Sunday night, there wasn't even the normal "everyone help everyone out" type of spirit you usually see....and it wasn't because the other wait staff was as busy as our waitress. I felt somewhat bad for her, even though she could have brought someone out to explain the food situation (I would have) instead of leaving things as is. Had she not been having such a difficult night, I definitely wouldn't have walked out paying $55 for inedible food; didn't see the need in making her...
