Convinced my coworkers to try this place for lunch. First mistake was thinking we would have time to eat here. Place wasnt busy, we sat down right away and ordered within 5 minutes of sitting down. But it took 25 min to get 3 burgers w fries.
We ordered a medium well plain with cheese onions and mayo, a medium all the way and a medium rare all the way. All of our burgers were medium well and our fries were warm and soggy like they'd been sitting. The plain burger had no onions. By the time the food came we didn't want anything fixed and just ate it. At this point we had 15 min to eat, pay and get back to work. At 20 bucks a piece after drink and tip, we were pretty disappointed.
The restaurant also wasn't as private or as nice as I expected based on the menu and pricing. The big long bench seat is not my cup of tea. Felt like we were dining with the group beside us. The atmosphere in general is lacking. The seats are not comfy, especially the bench.
Unfortunately, for 20 bucks with only an hour to spare there are better lunch options... I really hoped to add this place to our lunch rotation because the menu looks good, even for the price. But after this experience, we...
Read moreI ordered the So Fresh and So Green salad, but it arrived incomplete after a lengthy wait on a relatively slow night. When I inquired, I was informed that they were out of guacamole, yet no apologies or explanations were offered. A simple "I'm sorry, I forgot that we're out of guacamole" would have improved the situation.
Given the salad's significant reliance on guacamole, it would have been preferable to be informed of its unavailability before the dish was brought to me. Unfortunately, this lack of communication has led me to decide not to return.
This isn't the first time I've encountered issues at this restaurant. On a previous visit, they were out of several appetizers, and the shrimp and grits were undercooked. Additionally, a few years ago on my birthday, the 40/42 location had only one available entree, which was missing ingredients.
Despite my attempts to support local businesses, this will be my last visit to this restaurant after three disappointing experiences. It's disheartening, especially considering the limited dining options in the area. Oh well, I've given it a fair chance, but it's time to move on. Just paid my...
Read moreSo sad to post this but there is some real improvement needed at this location. Clearly, not all Simple Twist locations are created equal.
Firstly, they were out of several key items on the menu but we were the first ones in the door as they opened.
The fried green tomatoes- super bland, dry and the cornmeal tasted like it was stale.
The kids menus didn’t have the national standard fried chicken tenders, so we selected the grilled option but one breast was barely cooked (questionable) and the other was burnt. Still absolutely no flavor, tasted like a hospital meal.
The fried chicken sandwich- good but wow! Tiny, like imagine a Mac Donald’s kids happy meal hamburger Patty small…..
The Cuban sandwich- not on sourdough or standard Cuban bread like other locations, the meat tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for several days, stale and bland.
In my opinion they need better kitchen staff and quality control. They likely need someone that knows how to order better as well so that they don’t run out of food.
If we were the first in the door, there is no reason any of our food should have been anything other than piping...
