Very underwhelming hotel except for the staff. If THEY were to own and operate it may be a different story. Cleanliness was exceptional, my husband and I actually commented on how you would never see a worker not doing something. They were always busy cleaning, or re-stocking something and did that with a beyond friendly demeanor. The employees are top notch. That being said. The hotel itself? If you are looking for anything above a 2 star ....keep on looking. The breakfast is underwhelming. They don't offer much other than the over advertised "miracle waffle", which we have all made in our kitchen hundreds of times (am I right moms????). Yet "Choice Hotels" let's us make them some more?!?! Be still my heart!!! It's a waffle, not some gourmet breakfast that is served to us. So enough with the commercials advertising convenience. If I wanted a waffle that badly, I'd go somewhere and have it BROUGHT TO ME! This place, despite it's wonderful friendly and accomadating staff is WILDLY overpriced......and I'm from Jersey so that should speak volumes. No 24 hour coffee ...which.....come on...how hard is that??? Making a pot every 2 hrs? At $140 night I would expect if I wake up at 4am to be able to go to the lobby and grab a quick cup if I wanted. Again, back to breakfast. Stayed for 5 nights, 4 days. Sausages links every day, and either nasty scrambled eggs or even worse "cafeteria lady" egg patty in the morning. Come on folks. We are past Covid, stop using it as an excuse to not put out a great breakfast just so you can save a few bucks. Anyway, this place, ultimately it is clean with a friendly staff. That's it's though. If you're passing through for work and don't care? Great. But something tells me that corporate already knows this. Saw a lot of construction workers there during my stay, and all I could imagine was dollar signs instead of pupils in these corporate jerks faces. They are lucky they have the people who work there because without them???? Forget it . Avoid of you can. If you can't, at least you know it's clean and you...
Read moreWe stayed four nights at the hotel, and we were drawn by the reasonable price. The first night we arrived very late with no expectations except a place to sleep. Upon entry, my daughter said the smell in the room was strong and bothered her. (She has a strong sense of smell and sometimes notices things that don't bother me.) I thought it smelled musty, but I was ready to sleep. When I pulled off my socks and walked to the bed, I could tell the carpet was damp, but I went to sleep. When I got up at 7, I noticed the carpet seemed more damp, almost like when a carpet has just been cleaned. Everything in the room felt damp - the bedspread, the pillows, and my clothes. My daughter got up and said she had coughed off and on and she thought the room smelled of black mold. I told the front desk and they put us in another room that night. This room seemed better at first, but again the carpet felt damp and my daughter began coughing. The smell bothered her in this room, too, but it smelled musty to me. We didn't ask for another room as we assumed they would all be like this. Every morning the carpet felt more damp than it did at night and things in the room were damp. The temperature outside was hot and cooler at night, but without the high humidity we have at home in Arkansas, so the dampness in the room couldn't be blamed on the weather. My daughter was bothered by the smell and I don't know if it was mold, but we used room spray to try to mask it. It didn't make much difference. Even with this, the room was very clean and immaculate, which is one reason I have always liked Country Suites. We won't be staying again and I wish we had had a...
Read moreWe had a pretty good room, I was glad that the furniture was easy to move around to make room for my pack n play and cot. My girls loves the room, the AC was strong, which is a plus. My cons are that most of the outlets didn't work, the microwave was very out of date and didn't work at all (probably because of the outlets). I didn't call to complain because I shared a joining room with my sisters and I just used their amenities that worked. The worst part of my experience was that I woke up with a swollen eye and welts all over my body (that wasn't there when I went to bed). It was either bed bugs (which I doubt) or the chemicals to clean the sheets were too strong and it gave me hives. No one else in my family got hives or slowen eyes. I think I may have just gotten a bad batch of sheets that had too much detergent. You can tell what they use is strong because you get a woft or chemicals when you walk in (not bad, for me anyways). But I enjoyed my stay apart from those things. The continental breakfast was pretty decent. Not sure if I'd visit again, just because of the outbreak of hives, but the stay was great for everyone else, so it's not to say that it is a bad place to stay. Also one more thing, my room in particular had very low water pressure, it looked like the shower pull wouldn't go up all the way. It was room 216 just in case anyone wants to check on the issues in this particular room. Also the people that worked there...
