Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in Dunn

Since nobody is going to answer the Smithfield phone, after more than 6 attempts. I went through the drive through around 1:15/1:20pm on Monday the 29.. order# 579. I ordered a large sweet tea and a pint of bbq. I didn’t drink my tea till I got home to find slimy black/green chunks in the bottom of my cup!!!!!! And syrup as thick as molasses.. It taste beyond sour atleast 2 if not 3 day old tea… Either y’all are reusing tea or your tea spouts probably have an ungodly amount of mold on them!! It honestly tasted like week old sun tea. I personally was not going to drive another 20+ mins to get a “ new “ drink/tea just for something else to happen to it.. let alone get a refund because I dumped it down our sink.. Wish someone would have picked up the phone to discard of the disgusting tea… reusing tea from the day before is DISGUSTING, y’all would not want to be served that WHEN WERE PAYING FOR FRESH/ FAST FOOD!!! Not to mention the $13 worth of bbq I ordered it didn’t look or taste like bbq.. it looked like I was given 1/2 shredded dark meat from chicken & 1/2 bbq. The order was under cashier #5, doubt they will do anything about this… I just know I won’t be coming back. This is the second time this has happened to me, therefore prompting my review. I believe in giving everyone a second chance. Twice now, I have called in orders in advance, noting what time I would be there to pick up my order , and both times not only was my order not packaged and ready for my pickup, I had to wait for them to cook it. The first time I ordered a tailgate special, and I was on the way to deliver it to a homebound family who was expecting it for dinner at a specific time. The second time, I was providing baked beans for a church meeting. I ordered baked beans for 15 people and asked for them to be placed in an aluminum covered container. After waiting for my order, when it was brought out to me it was in four separate pints. What was the use of me calling my order in anyway? SCNB,, your food is fantastic that is the only thing you have going for you because your service sucks and believe me if there was anyplace else in town that offered the same food with better service they would run you out of business. Lesson learned. I won't be calling ahead anymore because obviously you are not prepared...

Really want to give this place 4 stars, as it’s normally very good when we go, but tonight left me a bit worried. I went in with my wife to eat supper, thankfully my kids weren’t there, and we see cop cars on all sides of the building. When we get in, there are two cops reviewing footage with some other people, and everyone is acting very strange, and I proceed to give my order. The lady wasn’t very polite, maybe she was having a bad night, but at the end of my order, I ask her what in the world was going on and why the police were there. I was asking to make sure I would feel safe to eat there with my family, and she rudely without skipping a beat looks at me and says “I don’t think I can tell you that”. Maybe she can, maybe she can’t, but it makes me feel very uneasy that no one can let someone know if it’s safe or not to eat there. That just rubbed me the wrong way. The least she could have would have been much politer about it, and then assured me and others who may or may not ask that everything was ok and not to worry.
