I usually visit this Popeye's despite it being 20 minutes further from me than the South Side location because the employees are nicer, the food quality is better, and this one has a drive-thru. I'll start by saying they were totally solid the other three times I've been here! The evening team is awesome, absolutely five stars from me.
During my most recent visit, I believe they were training a new employee, so when I pulled out of the drive-thru and realized she'd charged me for someone else's order in addition to the pickup order I'd already paid for, I circled back around to the drive thru line to let them know and have my card refunded for the second order I didn't receive or intend to pay for. It's like the day shift isn't on the same page with each other at all. The person I talked to at the order point was kind and friendly, but when I pulled up to the window, the manager came over to authorize the refund and repeatedly blamed me for the problem without saying anything else to me or the training employee. He asked me, "Why did you give her your card?" and I let him know I'd assumed the price differed from what the online system had charged me when I pre-ordered and needed to be updated or something. He went on to repeat that question over and over as he completed the refund. Mistakes happen and I totally get that! I circled back through so they wouldn't potentially be hurt by me taking the easier route and doing a card chargeback from home, and I'm confused why they would try to belittle someone for giving them a chance to easily correct a simple mistake.
I'm hoping the manager was having a bad day and this was just a fluke, and I'd absolutely come back during the evening shift again, but I'm debating switching back to the South Side location for my future lunch orders at this point. It's one thing for an employee to have this kind of behavior, but a manager is meant to be the example for the other employees and can make or break everyone else's approach to the job, and this is a sad example to...
Read moreI was so excited when we finally had a Popeyes in our area. But now, I'm terribly disappointed. I have never gotten anything warm there, never mind hot. They told me they had problems with their fryer at the beginning. It's a shame they had the problem during the opening. I don't know if it's still the fryer, or lack of staffing, or just poor management, but they need to get their act together. I even went there one time and asked what was the hottest thing they had from their menu, and they were very rude, didn't answer my question and pretended I wasn't even there. They always have a long line in their drive thru, but their product is either not available, or old and cold! On 3/7/22, I purchased a fish combo. I happen to LOVE fish, but this was not your usual somewhat bland piece of fish, in fact it gave me terrible heartburn. I called the store, and was told then that all their good has a "Louisiana" flavor to it. I told the woman I felt they should let customers know about their LA. kick to there fish. I then got a very insolent answer: "I just sell the fish, I don't make it". Not exactly an answer any customer wants to hear...my score dropped to 1 star; I'm through...

The food was cold the fries and everything was old it seemed like the temperature of the food was not up to code so when I called and complained, the manager didn’t even want to hear my side of what was going on he told me to bring the food back so that’s exactly what I did and he only gave me out of a $30 order. He only refunded me 8 dollars this place is terrible. I wouldn’t recommend anybody going in there to eat to even sit down. It’s dirty. The bathrooms are terrible. The manager had a nasty attitude.
