El Caporal Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Durant

There wouldn't be anything to say about the place, either good or bad, if it weren't for two facts. One is that there are plenty of Mexican restaurants in town without this place and the other is that this is the only one where I was able to order horchata. The horchata wasn't anything like the stuff I could get in Los Angeles, California, Albertville, Alabama, and Laredo or Brownsville, Texas. I've ordered the Steak Fajita Chimichanga at every Mexican restaurant in Durant. None are good enough and this place is no exception. I'll drive to Kingston or Madill if I want a good one. I wasn't going to say anything about this place if I got the answer I sought from other patrons. My question was simple: Why does Durant need El Caporal. They all said the same thing; "It doesn't". That was my assessment too. I paid $20.77 for the cash price to be disappointed by bland food. I won't be back unless all the others close down... except Salitas. That's the only one that these guys...

This is the old branding iron spot . The food is fantastic, the staff is exceptionally friendly and well attentive to their guests . The bar is open for drinks . The environment is welcoming . Reasonably priced . Our visit was a delightful one, definitely a favorite spot . The staff is so welcoming, one of my favorite places . Went back again and still a great place. El Caporal has been opened for two weeks and today I decided to try their food and drinks. I took my food to-go, along with their signature Horchata and Hibiscus Tea. I ordered an a-la-carte chicken quesadilla, 4 corn tacos (2 Carne Asada, 1 Chicken, and 1 Pork) plus a Choriqueso with Tortilla Chips appetizers. There was a mistake with the tacos made on flour, but they fix their error with utmost diligence. $35 dollars well spent.
