I've been to Duck Donuts a few times and I was in the area today and decided it's been too long since I've treated myself to a maple-bacon. I ordered a donut and a coffee. I needed to wash my hands so I proceeded to the bathroom, and as I approached the door, the employee who makes the donuts was exiting the bathroom. I immediately noticed how disgusting the bathroom was. It clearly had not been cleaned in a very long time. The toilet was unbelievably disgusting, the floor was sticky and very grimy, there were no paper towels, and the sink was literally so dirty that it was brown......and dry. The employee who had just used the bathroom clearly did not wash her hands. It was sickening and I knew I couldn't imagine trying to eat food that was prepared by someone who doesn't wash their hands after using the bathroom in an establishment that doesn't prioritize cleanliness. I changed my mind on that maple-bacon and asked for a refund. The employee who originally took my order did apologize for my experience and asked if I would be comfortable if she prepared my food instead. But to be honest, I felt that any employee who didn't take offense to the disgusting bathroom in the first place would be equally incapable of caring about cleanliness in food preparation. To make matters worse, the refunded amount was less than what I paid and I didn't realize that until after I left. Pathetic. Sorry, Duck Donuts, I...

That isn't were my issue lies. My issue lies with the staff. I had been shopping around the area and noticed the doughnut shop and decided to try it. Everything was fine until the (supposed) manager began to take my order. He had a serious attitude, scoffed, and made faces as I ordered. Then, when I stated I wanted a dozen, he called out "a dozen"and the guy in back moaned, groaned and began to loudly and audibly and verbally complain about having to make the order; I could hear it all from the front. Both guys were completely rude. At this point, I was essentially ready to cancel my order. As I waited for my order went to grab something from my car, when I tried to re-enter the door was locked, which is when I realized that I had shown up about 10-15 before closing (which is still NO EXCUSE for such poor customer service). When the managed open the door, I told him "thank you" ... TWICE, both times I was ignored and met with a look of indignation. The woman on staff was the only person that treated me with any kind of respect or kindness. To say the least, my first impression was a bad one, hostile even. The manager/guy taking the order needs to be replaced, his customer service was down right aggressive, condescending, and rude. Will never go there again. Doughnuts are a 3,...
Read moreKeeping this short and sweet. Ordered fall favorites. Got spooky box. Half my fault for rushing to look because they were busy. I also ordered ahead of time. It said my order would be ready by 1124. Got it at almost 1140. The people who ordered in the store got theirs before me. I tried to let it go. I even stated to the people that I ordered the fall favorites. Got home and was looking over which was which. Called told them I got the wrong order. They stated I could come back inside and get it fixed. Told them I was home 20 minutes away and their response was oh sorry. At least itâs Halloween hope you enjoy. Iâm allergic to coconut and had to throw 4 doughnuts out. This was a surprise for my family. The guy at the register was super nice but itâs disheartening for my first time here to have this happen with what felt like no feeling behind the mistake. I probably wonât be back to this one and will go the extra few to Cary. Iâve heard my friends rave about them. Please read your tickets correctly. Have a good...
