On 4/10 at 3:06 pm while taking my dog for a walk at the redroof at 5623 Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd, me & my dog logan were attacked behind from a loose pitbull on the hotel premise. During the attack, the pitbull bit my dog several times, attempted to bite me as I pulled & kicked him away & did minor damage to my vehicle. The hotel staff were extremely negligent & unprofessional in the way they "handled" the manner. They lied & claimed that they had no knowledge of the woman & dog being there despite later claiming that they handled the situation & had removed the individual & dog owner from their room at 11am that morning as they werent the one staying there but a guest of theirs. This was not the case as the woman remained on the premise with their belongings scattered across the lawn & with her pitbull that she had no control or restraint over. Just a leash that wasnt being held but tied to a small shrub by the stairs of the hotel & could have attacked anyone in the nearby area. Redroof policy says no pitbulls or dogs over 50lbs allowed on premises & no dogs allowed unrestrained outside of the room. Despite that a 100+ pound pitbull remained outside unrestrained for several hours creating an unsafe environment for anyone who was staying at the hotel & despite it being brought to the staffs attention they failed to have her removed from the property for over 4 hours. The dog was 3-4× the size of my dog & could have seriously injured/killed me or him. All they cared about was their property & removing those individuals from the room itself & not the premises thus putting the people staying there all at risk & they didnt care absolutely whatsoever & just kept saying we handled it meanwhile they did absolutely nothing & we were attacked which is clear evidence that they knowingly & negligently didnt handle the situation until after someone else was at harm. The staff laughed while skimming thru security footage, & I had to sit there for over the course of 30 minutes & watch that in the immediate aftermath of being attacked as I waited for animal control to arrive. Throughout the entire course of this ordeal they did not ONCE ask if I or my dog were okay. The hotel lobby staff failed to provide any names of the lobby worker on duty, he would only refer to himself as the property manager. He refused to provide me with any coorporate info, his supervisors info, insurance etc. They were made immediately aware of the situation as it occured because my mom called the front office while I was on the phone with the police. The staff didnt intervene & just watched as the lady walked off the property with her dog while simultaneously lying to my face & saying they were unaware of the lady or attack that had just occured. They also kept refusing to call the police themselves or allow me to file a formal incident report on site despite knowing what had just occured. They also kept refusing to refund me for the final night of my stay after checking out early & leaving the premises as I did not feel safe on it nor did other individuals who came up to me & also claimed the dog tried to bite them earlier in the day. Only after the police arrived hours later following a dispute involving a seperate individual staying at the hotel & several phone calls to corporate did they agree to refund me for the night I wasn't staying there for. This has been the most absolutely disgusting display of treatment from a hotel that I have ever personally experienced. There was absolutely no remorse, care, or initiave showed by absolutely anyone besides the room cleaner who asked how I was. They showed absolutely no care for the safety of anyone on the premises or me or my dog after that traumatic experience that left my dog bleeding from the eye, bite punctures in his neck & a trip to an emergency vet. I am visiting nc from ny but dont EVER stay at this hotel as the lobby staff & "property manager" are disgustingly negligent & unprofessional dirtbags with no remorse of any injuries or damage that occur to their guests or any of...

Read moreWe booked a last minute trip to Chapel Hill for a local event on 11/13/21, and the booking process was pleasant and reassuring.||The reality of the facility was anything BUT those qualities.||The entire building and grounds are run down and generally uncared for - loose garbage, cigarette butts, and sticky pools of dark liquid in all the stairwells and walkways.||Our room, 201, was clearly labeled as Non-Smoking but as soon as we entered ... the smell of stale cigarettes and mildew was overpowering. ||It was so bad I'd describe it by saying you could taste the smell through your skin! Nasty.||We tried to make a go of it, but by 10:30 that night it was unbearable / unbreathable ... and we checked out.||The night manager was very apologetic, and when we told him we were in 201 he literally said, he would "never put anyone in 201" ... I personally doubt any other rooms were better based on the overall appearance of the hotel.||The night manager also said he was not authorized to give us a partial refund but to call back the next day and speak to the manager, "Nick".||We did call the next day and were told "Nick" was not available, but should be back in a day or two, and the person I was speaking to could not help me. He took a message he said he would make sure "Nick" received.... we never got a call back.||||We won't waste our money or time here again, and recommend you don't as well.||||*And I have to wonder if the high star ratings here are from paid responders. I cannot imagine this property being higher than a 2, even if you did luck into a...
