I Love NY Pizza — Restaurant in Durham

My husband & I ate there last night & were so pleased with the quality of the food & the friendliness of what we think may have been the owners. I'd earlier had a medical procedure that day & didn't feel like anything with too much sauce. I asked if i could have just spaghetti with olive oil & maybe some garlic. I was told that would not be a problem :) Dereck personally made the dish & brought it out to me. It was exactly what i needed & felt like!! I appreciated his extra effort to make something for a customer he had never seen before. (We're in town for treatments at the UNC hosp.) It was as though we were long-time friends or regulars to their restaurant! Not only was my pasta delicious, it was garnished with fresh parsley & garlic knots! It was as though the dish was prepared in a very nice, "upscale" Italian restaurant. My husband ordered a calzone & asked for extra feta cheese, along with the other ingredients. The calzone was huge and had lots of filling, including fresh spinach & the feta! My husband was unable to eat it all. Also, we were in town previously for medical reasons & my husband got a deep-dish Greek-style pizza to take back to our hotel room. It was also delicious & a lot of food! We appreciated the kindness of Dereck & the others who work there, as well as the taste & quality of the food. We will be back again!! Suggestion though: How about some Italian or Greek...

That man purposely didn’t put my order in after I PAID because of TWENTY CENTS TWO DIMES !!!! and I told him I have the 20 CENT he said don’t worry SLAMED THE REGISTER CLOSED like he doing me a favor 🤣 (prior to me walking in from work I added $10 to my card for lunch because I’m like 2 slices shouldn’t cost that much which I don’t because I’ve been there before and ordered the same thing which never comes over $10 so $10 went through but I didn’t have 20 CENTS so I added another $1 so I can pay the 20 CENTS) he didn’t give me my cup or nothing BECAUSE OF 20 CENTS so I’m sitting there for 20mins I get up to ask what happened to my food she like “you ordered I’m like yeah” so she’s talking to the guy like why didn’t you put her order in he said something laughed and walked off she gave it to me after she “warmed it up” it was still cold all that...

If you’re on a diet this is definitely not the place to come visit, I can almost guarantee you will leave wanting more lol.

Every other pizza place says New York pizza right? Well this place definitely has the taste and Slice size to back it up. I grew up in the south Bronx and pizza was one of my favorites to have after school whenever I got the chance to get it, this place took me back to those days the minute I took my first bite. I got a pepperoni and a Jamaican patty with cheese and both were Riquisimo💛. The owners and the staff very friendly, the place very clean. What I recommend this place to friends and family? Heck yeah!!! If your ever in this area next to Old Navy and buy buy baby you should definitely stop in and visit, you definitely won’t regret it. They also have a bigger menu...
