Ping Pong Cafe — Restaurant in Durham

I used to love this place. Great pricing for good food. Even when it came to delivery, the timing would be perfect. But here lately, they seem to have an attitude problem. When I called that lady is very snappy . When I asked for alterations, you would of thought it was killing her. I mean I am paying you and whatever changes are being made. I am sure it comes with a cost. The taste is also starting to become bland. The general tso chicken I ordered was very dry and hard around the edges. The sauce as I was denied being placed on the side was very thick and slimy looking. You are wanting expectations (tips) from your customer but you are not willing to give satisfaction. So I decided to take another chance and place another order since my co-worker still eats from you all. But then you deliver almost an hour later. And again have the nerve to say that you come a long way and the amount being charged does not cover a tip. I mean really, you are just up the street. I know where you are and can get there in 10 minutes. I give you the little funky $3 and you looked as if you were going to get more. You lucky you got that much. I call to request your manager who is now there. You don't know if they will be there. So I let you know too. So for now I will just take my business elsewhere and if you choose not to deliver I don't think anybody's is gonna cry about it. Honestly, I just believe because you are convenient and reasonable. Overall: Delicious, cheap, chinese take-out food. Delivery guy is nice.

I've actually never been in the restaurant but my co-workers & friends have been inside multiple times and they like the place. I usually always get delivery on weeknights/weekends so that's what I'm going to base my experience off of.

To the person who got the rude delivery guy, he must be long gone now. The guy who delivered my food, mind you I've gotten delivery around 4 times already by the same guy, he's nice and friendly and very prompt and quick with delivery. Probably one of the nicest delivery guys I've ever dealt with in my life to be honest. To be honest in regards to the previous review, if you're taking your time with picking up your delivery during lunch, from a business standpoint you have to remember lunch time is PRIME making money for these guys.

In regards to the food, it's your typical chinese take-out food. It's quick, fast, fatty, and delicious. Everything I've gotten on the menu has come out great so far so you can't really go wrong with whatever is your favorite dish.

Ping Pong Cafe is a large Chinese restaurant with lots of tables to dine in. The overall feel is dated and definitely casual. We visited Ping Pong on a Monday evening with a colleague who was visiting from Japan. We walked into the restaurant around 7PM and it was empty. I started to suggest we try a different place but my colleagues didn't seem bothered by the lack of customers so I kept my thoughts to myself. We placed our orders at the counter in the back of the restaurant, paid then waited for our food to be prepared. The cashier was not particularly friendly nor engaging. There was no table service, just a cashier and cook in the kitchen. Our orders were ready in less than 10 minutes and came out piping hot, good microwave? Anywho the food was actually very good and the amount was enough for at least 2 meals. While we dined I noticed a number of parties came in to pickup to takeout orders so that speaks to the quality or value of the menu choices. Overall the experience was pleasant and I would visit Ping Pong again...
