It was really delicious. Food came out fast, staff was super friendly.
We got the Carolina Slaw Burger and the Double. A large side of fries with Fire Spice to share.
The fries were super crispy and had a nice sweet hint to them (assuming the fire spice) with a good heat to them.
The Carolina Slaw Burger was moist and had crispy edges. The Slaw was crunchy and the chili was very flavorful.
The Double was the same as far as moist and crispy. We got the Special Sauce on it and, not sure if it was the sauce or part of the burger but it was a little heavy on the mustard flavor. Not so much so that we didn't like it, just a little strong.
The only thing that turned me off was the price point. For 2 drinks, a large fry and the two burgers, it was roughly $42.
QueenBurger markets itself as a fast food joint that uses fresh high quality ingredients. Grass fed beef directly from Durham, and house made veggie smash. In a world where fast food joints are super popular among teens and adults alike, QueenBurger could absolutely crush corporate competitors with the quality of food they have if there was a small price adjustment. They seem to already have the business to succeed (place is filled up as of this writing, but at almost $50 for two meals, it's a far cry from a quick bite with friends or family. As far as more bang for your buck with the same quality, there are...
Read moreAs a humble earthworm dwelling deep within the rich soil of Durham, my world is a simple one, far removed from the hustle and bustle of human life. Yet, on an extraordinary day, I had a unique encounter with a place known as QueenBurger.
The vibrations from the surface reached me, and I could sense something extraordinary happening above. The enticing aroma of "burgers," a word I had never comprehended before, filled the earth. It was an intriguing experience.
The morsels that found their way to me were unlike anything I had ever encountered in my subterranean existence. They were juicy and full of an unknown, mouthwatering flavor that defied my wormish understanding. The vibrations from the surface hummed with the excitement of those indulging in these peculiar creations.
What puzzled me most were the "fire-spiced fries." As they made their way through the soil, their spiciness was a sensation unfamiliar to my worm senses. The earth around me seemed to come alive with a fiery energy that resonated with the humans above.
I felt a connection to the Earth's surface and its inhabitants in a way I had never before. Although I will never truly comprehend the significance of QueenBurger, the experience of these delectable morsels from the world above was a rare delight in my simple...
Read moreWhat a delightful experience! We went on a Wednesday afternoon, around 5PM, right before a Bulls game and another event. Not crowded at all.
We ordered two spicy style smash burgers with jalapenos and made it a combo (includes any burger, side and drink) for a few more bucks. We got spicy fries and fried pickles with zesty ranch.
The soda fountain was kind of flat but the sweet tea was on point.
We waited about 8-10 minutes with no other customers in the dining room. Service was quick and hospitable.
Now for the food...
Y'all, the smash burgers were hot, juicy, and delicious. I would have preferred more cheese next time but it was still smackin. The edges were crispy and it was seasoned to perfection. The grilled jalapenos also added a nice texture change and were good.
The shoestring fries are seasoned incredibly. The fried pickles were a bit drenched in oil and that made the breading to slide off but the overall taste was really good with the zesty ranch sauce. I wouldn't get this as a standalone side but good for a combo.
Overall, if you're looking for good smash burgers you can't go wrong coming here. Good value, great food. Will be back for sure to try the chili and...
