Lucky Strike Tower — Attraction in Durham

I have never wanted a cigarette more than when looking at this water tower in the late evening.

When you’re in Durham, it’s important to know the heritage of why this space thrived and the roots that came with it. Tobacco is a real embedded element to this city and it brings a lot of charm and one can only imagine pain, from these massive companies profiting on addiction.

An old relic to the tobacco industry that made a Durham what it is. Now all Tobacco row has been transformed apartments, restaurants, and shops. Very nice area with an open area. Looks like the base of the tower can be made into stage for live music. The tower is pretty cool and marks the area as a landmark. Well worth checking out if you're in the area visiting or catching a Bulls game...

Very cool place to visit. Somewhat shut down during our last visit because of Covid-19, but still great to walk around. Make sure you stop for a draft at Tobacco Road brew pub where you can grab a table on the patio along the third base line of the Durham Bulls AAA baseball team, first come first serve.
