Don't go to this location. They shouldn't even get 1 star. I have tried over and over to give this place a chance. I use to have a friend that worked here and even then the wait for 1 smoothie was too long. But recently I walked in with my son to get a gift card for a pregnant friend and couldn't resist ordering us and my husband (who was waiting in the car) smoothies. I already expected to have to wait but what happened was completely unexpected. There was about 5 people that came behind me (2 that I'm sure placed an online order and the rest ordered after me). The girl behind the register proceeded to make everyone who ordered after me their smoothie before my family's. I saw her give out 1 and I figured he was alone so she made his before having to make our 3. Ok. But then another one and then a couple... So I spoke up. She copped an attitude in the fake professional way women do and told me it would be right out and proceeded to make SOMEONE ELSES SMOOTHIE. My son was upset. I was upset. I am appalled by how we were treated. I will never be back and honestly as a business owner I would fire her on the spot for her "fake" attitude she served. Not to mention my smoothie was made wrong. Dont waste your time. Go to another smoothie place or another location.

Read moreI have to say, I was excited to try this place but was left with a horrible taste in my mouth. While the sandwich I had was absolutely delicious, the smoothie I had was very gritty and seemed to have too much flavor of one item and not enough of the others. But the thing I found most unpleasant was the customer service! The young woman taking the orders very clearly does not need to be behind the register! She was rude and completely unpleasant. While taking our order another patron came up and asked for a bag, and literally while we were telling her what we wanted she walked away without a word to grab the gentleman a to go bag. While I understand helping customers a simple "excuse me" would have been polite to us, or a "one moment sir while I finish this order" would have been sufficient for him. As someone who has worked customer service for over a decade, this young woman is quite obviously goi ng to need to be taught better tactics at treating the patrons with respect. She also was giggling and laughing with another young coworker the entire time which made us feel as if we were unwelcome. Not to mention the woman who brought the smoothies out obviously speaks very little English and could hardly pronounce the names of the individuals. There was one gentleman that came out from the back to check on everyone and started taking orders, he was very pleasant and made us feel much more appreciated. Read moreI absolutely love Tropical Smoothie Cafe', I was so excited to learn that there was a location close to me. Unfortunately, I have been disappointed one too many times with the service at this location. Today, I called in my order at 6:10pm, I was told my order will be ready in 7 to 8 min. Once I got there I paid for my order and begun to wait and wait for my food(Wrap). 20 min later, I began to get a little impatient due to the fact that I had to be in Chapel Hill to work a 12hr night shift. 25 min later, as I watched the young man prepare my food, who clearly had no idea what he was doing, I asked for my money back so I can leave. Long story short..25 min later and $13.41 short, the cashier calls the owner, only for me to leave with a phone number(which was the wrong number on top of that), to call the store next week when the owner returns from vacation. No one in the store had any authority to grant me a refund or store credit for the terrible service I had received. While I arrived to work late behind all of this non-sense. I am looking forward to meeting the owner, Erica on next week. Hopefully, I can give a good review on how Erica, handled this situation upon her return. I'm going to stop with google for now.
