This place has become part of my daily routine. The sandwiches and salads are out-of-this-world amazing. Seriously delish. My favorite is the turkey pesto or the ham & havarti or the reuben (pretty sure I've tried 'em all). But wait, there's salads too! The Cobb is really good. So is the sesame chicken grain bowl (the miso dressing is awesome).
The sweets are a problem for me because, well, I can't resist them. Last time I bought six of their peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, I ate half of them before I made it home (and these are BIG cookies, people). There's nothing better than their scones and muffins first thing in the morning. And the cinnamon rolls? As big as my face. (I'm hoping they bring back the cranberry orange scones for fall, 'cause they're my fave.) Oh yeah, and they make bread too! Four words: Red white and blueberry. Just try and resist it. (White chocolate in bread? You have to try it.)
I used to go to the Fairview and Cloverdale location (also an awesome store). The "Eagle" store (it's at Chinden and Linder) is more convenient for me and also charming and adorably decorated, with plenty of seating inside and out. The employees are fun and helpful and remember me by name when I come in! If you couldn't already tell, I love this place. Go...
Read moreI normally try to have grace with any restaurant/food establishment because I used to own one and it can be truly tough, but this experience would be a negative star if there was one. Ordered two sandwiches, one half and one whole. A cookie and a drink. Not only did it take over 25 minutes, but there was only one table in there before me already sitting and the other customers who ordered after me got their food before. The bag of sandwiches was sitting on the counter for a while until the girl handed it to me and just said âoh sorry about that.â I got in the car and opened the bag to see the half sandwich was literally a piece of panini cooked bread about 3x3 inches. I have never seen a sadder sandwich for almost $9 I thought it was a joke. I understand paying for food when youâre going out which is why I was excited to place an order and I tipped 20 percent before even receiving my food and sub par service, but itâs disappointing to overcharge for a little appetizer when it could be a solid sandwich. Experiences like this are why people choose McDonaldâs when they are looking for something quick, rather than a healthier...
Read moreTwo stars because the food is pretty good. We really just go for the cinnamon rolls.
Everything is wrapped and ready grab and go, but we wanted to stay and eat on the patio.
I asked for âfour cinnamon rolls on plates and could you please heat them up a little?â
She comes back with four rolls stacked up- not on plates and not heated.
I asked again. She came back with four luke warm rolls in a large box. I said, â oh we were wanting to eat those here, could I have four plates?â
âWe donât have any plates.â
âOk. So what do people use when they want to eat here?â
She points at the giant box in my hand.
I then look around and see other people eating sandwiches off trays.
âCould I have 4 of those? That would work great.â She goes and grabs them like it was a crazy request.
To top it off, we paid I donât know how much for two watery âhot chocolatesâ made with Swiss Miss.
All in all, seem food is decent/good, but they are definitely set up for take out, not a very nice dine-in experience. OH and donât be fooled by the âand cafeâ part. They only serve...
