I will start off by saying 2 Bros is my favorite pizza in Easley, which isn't saying much considering where I'm from and how few "REAL PIZZA" options there are around here. However I was told by a neighbor to try Merrell's and after this experience I will definitely give them a try.
I ordered 2 Bros' B1G 1/2 Off Pizza promotion, and while my mother didn't care for their 10-inch thin crust pepperoni, I do like the brick oven flavor of 2 Bros. But my problem came when I picked up my order. I ordered a 14-inch HALF Deluxe Pie HALF Meat Pie pizza.
Both of these cost $19 for a full 14-inch pizza, so you'd figure they would charge you $19 and then half off for the 10-inch thin crust pepperoni. Nope. I did get half off the pepperoni pizza, but I was upcharged nearly $3 for "half and half" on my pizza, despite the fact both pizzas cost the same price if you order off their website. Oh fun fact, if you don't pay cash, they charge you 3.5% for using a card, because hey, why not...
When I asked why, no one had an explanation, no one tried to make the experience better for me -- I paid almost $30 for the two pizzas -- no one got a manager to try and alleviate my concerns, no one took my suggestion of "just charge me for one 14-inch Deluxe pizza" to fix the issue with the computer. Nope none of that.
Instead, the girl was like, "Oh well, it's already in our computer, can't change that..." -- so much for Southern hospitality -- and rudely grabbed the $40 in cash out of my hands before giving me the change.
If I wasn't going to try Merrell's before, the pizza itself was reason enough to after getting home and seeing what I actually bought.
If I am paying nearly $22 + tax for a 14-inch pizza, I expect the toppings I order to be on there. Instead, the "Deluxe" half was mostly olives and onions, a far cry from the promised onion, green pepper, pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushroom, black olives and extra cheese. I don't even recall tasting green pepper, pepperoni or Italian sausage on that half.
On the "Meat" half, I mostly saw ham, cheese and ground beef, again a far cry from MEAT PIE, which they label as pepperoni, ham, Italian sausage, pork sausage, beef, bacon and extra cheese.
This was just a whole-heartedly poor example of good customer service. What a shame. I wish they would have tried to make...
Read moreEdit: They have gotten better at having pickup orders ready which is a real relief. If they keep it up, I'll come back and bump them to 5 stars!
Really wish I could rate them higher. The rating has nothing to do with the food here, it is always a crowd pleaser. The wings are well sauced, the fries are crispy, and the pizza is well made.
The major issue I have is with their takeout service. We have ordered from here at least 8 times over the last 1.5 years, both on the phone and online, and every time our order isn't ready when we get there to pick it up. It's never a complex order either, a pizza and some wings, maybe an app as well. The staff is understanding about our frustration, but when I have to start to factor in an extra 20 minutes on top of the time I have already waited, it's a bit much.
For example, my last order was a 45 minute wait, so we picked it up on the way home. Got to the restaurant, and we were told our order was "the next up" after the server looked at the register for a while. This gives the impression that within the last 45 minutes, our order wasn't even started. We proceeded to wait another 20 minutes. The garlic knots came out pretty dark as well as the pizza crust, almost like they were rushing to cook it and it got burnt.
I have sadly had to choose other pizza places over 2bros because the takeout times can be so unreliable. If you have the time to spare, definitely try them out. I'll be happy to update this review if I start to...
Read moreGood but it seems like food is not consistent. Will say that this is the best pizza we've found in the area but one time it will be outstanding and the next, just ok. Then the next outstanding. Guess it depends on the cook. Last time was the kicker though ... Very weird experience. Pizza was good but we ordered wings, which we've ordered before many times. Always good. This time they were coated in teriyaki and buffalo. We ordered buffalo..... When we asked what happened, if there was a mistake, the waiteress said no. They were buffalo. Not her fault, she doesn't know what the kitchen does. But then someone else came by and because it was really bugging me and i knew they weren't right I asked that girl if they changed the buffalo sauce, she said no. We even said, I think they made a mistake and did teriyaki and tried to cover it up by just throwing buffalo on top and she just looked at us and made a weird comment like ... They are a little different huh? And walked away They were fine to eat but just say.... We made a mistake, are they ok or do you want us to remake them..... Instead the kitchen made the server serve them and probably said nothing. I'm sure to keep costs down and hoping we wouldn't notice. Whatever. Minor issue, we'll be back because this is the best pizza and wings in the area...
