We had a nice gift certificate I received as a birthday gift, ordering more than we'd usually eat. We started with their cheese dip along with complimentary chips and salsa. The white cheese was creamy and chips were warm. I had a medium Margarita on the rocks since the hubby was driving. Definitely tasty.
The hubby had the chicken, shrimp and scallops dinner (Jaracho) served with onions, mushrooms, pineapple along with rice and tortillas. It was a large plate of food and the pineapple was just the right sweetness for the meal. He ate only the shrimp and scallops leaving the chicken and rice for take home to our Sadie mentioning he was getting full. I know though he was thinking of sharing with our girl. I had shrimp served with a mango Chipotle sauce over rice with Pico de Gallo and sour cream (Mango Chipotle Shrimp). I really like it although I feel the sauce could have been drizzled over the shrimp and a larger serving of their Pico would balance the flavors a bit better. The shrimp swam in the sauce. I'd definitely order again asking for more Pico.
We wanted to try their flan but they were out! I think we will have to stop in one day and get some to go. Midday though since it's home made and we were told it sells fast. LOL
We will definitely go back. It is a nice place for either an intimate dinner for two and quiet enough for a group of friends to...
Read moreThis is my second time coming in, the first time I was blown away and decided to bring my family and friends for Fathers Day. First off, the male server was rude. Couldn’t even politely ask us what we were wanting to drink? I also asked for Guacamole dip as it states on the pic, was told that it is the chunky dip instead, ok… fine. We got the chunky dip and it had steak in it. Not one of us ordered steak, we didn’t order the alebrijes dip. The server, who seems to be well trained at her job goes oh, it must of been dropped in when the cooks made the pico de gallo. Didn’t even apologized or offered a discount or to remake it. Also the first guacamole dip had a weird taste, I know it isn’t made fresh like its predecessor but still. The atmosphere is severely lacking, they also had a table behind us that were hooting and being loud and nothing was done about it. As a courtesy to the other guests, they should have stepped up and asked them to tone it down or something. They also had a child running in and out the side door...
Read moreI had carry out lunch at a New Mexican restaurant in Easley, Alebrijes Cocina Mexicana and Margaritas. The location is where Dairy Queen, then Pizza Hut was once located. They’ve done A LOT of remodeling and the restaurant looks good. A fully stocked bar with comfortable bar stools. The place was very clean and well kept. It wasn’t very crowded, so the noise level was ok. After looking at the menu I decided on the Pollo Fundido. Two deep fried flour tortillas, filled with seasoned shredded white meat chicken with melted white cheese. It comes with rice and a salad. The salad was shredded iceberg lettuce with diced tomatoes, diced orange bell peppers, with sour. A simple salad, but it was good. Fresh chips and mild salsa finished out my meal. The rice was cooked just right, the Pollo Fundido was delicious, after eating the salad I could only eat half of one Of the tortillas . The rest will be for dinner, their portions are generous, I had enough for two people. Come by and check out Alebrijes, I gotta try one of...
