Now I really hate to do this because I have loved Atami for a long time. I have never had a bad experience with my food until the other night. I ordered 2 steak and shrimp one mid rare and one medium. It was 8:15 when we ordered and 8:35 when we picked up out order. When I got home and got the kids settled and ready to eat I took a bite of steak and it was COMPLETELY WELL DONE and it was so overcooked and dry to the point it left a chalky taste in my mouth. I called Atami right away as it was 8:50 and they closed at 9. I told the woman in charge what the problem was her response was "We already close grill down, bring back food tomorrow I give your money back" she issued no apology and told me they will not re make the food and I would have to talk to the owner Mr. LEE. I ended up ordering a pizza calling it a night and prepared myself for the next day to take the food back. I was really wanting to go in there and cuss them out for the rudeness I recieved but you know I decided that would only make things worse, so I ended up going in there nice and calm with the food. Mr Lee was sitting in a booth. I took him the food, opened the box and showed him how dry it was. Still no freaking apology! He turned to the cashier and said give him his money back. I asked if he was going to remake my food he said no. I will not be eating here anymore. This is not how you treat your customers. I am so disappointed as my family and I have eaten...
Read moreService was fast and very friendly. That's where anything good, ended. You order and pay at the counter, then they bring it to your table. Inside was VERY dated and was, sadly, not very clean. There was food spilled on chairs that we had to wipe off. Floors were dirty, table tops were rather sticky and also didn't seem very clean. The whole place had a back-of-a-gas station, rest stop vibe. A praying- you- don't -get-food poisoning vibe, honestly! The food smelled good cooking, so we tried to remain optimistic. Sadly, the food was terrible. Hibachi chicken was so dry and way overcooked. Tons of salty soy sauce was the single, overpowering element in all dishes. The rice was chewy and mostly tasteless...white rice coated in salty soy. The zucchini and onion would have been good were it not for the overly salty soy "teriyaki" sauce. No flavor but salty. The "Yum Yum" sauce was yuck-yuck, it tasted like almost straight up mayonnaise. Even the water had an awful taste to it...or maybe it was the ice? We were with a group of 8 and no one liked the food except for the 2 who talked us all into trying this place. Terrible all around except for the nice staff. Would never...
Read moreI went in tonight and ordered some food. I ordered 2 steak terriaki plates. The girl accidentally typed chicken, you could tell that she was newer. When I checked my food before I left it was chicken. So I went up to the desk and apologized and said they were supposed to be steak. The girl asked a coworker how to fix it and I offered to pay the difference. Then the manager came up. She started chewing the girl out. I've worked in food before and I know mistakes can be made. I have never seen someone treat an employee like that. She then removed her from the cash register and replaced her with another girl. It was super rude and apparent what was going on. The food is not good enough for me to go back after the way I saw her treat her employees. I am completely disgusted. To the girl who got chewed out, "I am so sorry and blown away by the way she treated you. You need to find a job where...
