As my 13 hour workday came to a close, the inescapable thought of a delicious 20 piece nugget took a firm hold on me. As I scrubbed the final dishes, I imagined sweet and sour sauce dripping from the first nugget as I devoured it with one triumphant bite. The anticipation came to a head as I feverishly drove toward exit 7...toward Chicken McGlory. Enveloped in the golden glow of the McDonald's arches, I drove my truck to the drive-thru. 3:30am, a woman's voice drenched in apathy echos from the speaker, "McDonald's. our system is down and I can only accept cash." The tone of her voice suddenly changes, what sounds like a childish attempt to mask a lie behind a rushed mumble. I can't make out her words and ask for her to repeat herself, "we are only serving breakfast." the woman lies. My stomach turns, my dream is crushed. I drive away. About 10 minutes later I decide to give her a call. I ask if they begin serving breakfast at 4am, she hesitates for a moment, wondering if she's speaking with the same person who's life she just destroyed, all the while, knowing that this phone call could very well be a secret shopper. "Yea." she replies. "Well that's odd." I say, " I was just there at 3:30 and..." The woman interupts me, realizing that she's just been played for a fool. "Oh yea we had to switch early because our system was down." She continues to lie. This is where I hung up the phone. My question is, what effect does the credit card system have on my God damn 20 piece nugget!? Why in the name of Jesus and everything he ever stood for did I have to go home hungry, where I would eventually make myself a sandwich with the final slice of low sodium ham in my refrigerator. What this woman did is not right, I don't know her name, nor do I care, but my story needs to be heard. Employee, If you're reading this then I want you to know that I hate my job too, but I still do it. I was really looking forward to that 20 piece, and your nihilistic attitude...
Read moreIt sUUUUUcked! We just spent 21 bucks on an order. Got about 5miles away before realized we didn't get our fries. I know, SHOCKING, right?! (At a McDonald's of ALL places!🤪) Which that was in addition to the "cashier" giving us a death stare for some reason. Maybe it's cause I was black, maybe it's cause I'm gay, maybe he's pissed at my boyfriend for dating a black guy-IDK never met him before, but you'd think I curb stomped his mom. And I am ALWAYS nice, I realize if I have to say it than it probably means the opposite, but I was nice as I could literally have been, because I've worked in the food prep and retail. I KNOW what it's like dealing with problem customers and I would never do that to someone. And the other reason you should always be nice is so they don't go spittin in your food. But I don't know WHAT my ancestors did to this guy in a past life but he was none too friendly. ANNNYWAYS, I went back for my two medium fries and to buy a soda since I spilled the milkshake (my fault 100%) we pulled into the drive thru and waited for about 5mins, no exaggeration. A total of FOUR cars were helped all with about 2mins of wait time that they each had to wait. There was no off sign or cone or sign on a menu saying that the other side of the drive thru was closed. And other cars were using it, when I went to order the first time. So idk if he could see us on camera or if he could just sense that it was me, but it very much seemed like he was avoiding answering the second drive thru. Like dam, I just. wanted. my dam fries. Anyways, after waiting for so unbelievably long, and because I didn't want to snap, I said fuc it and drove off. Basically I'm giving this McDonald's 1star for showing up and a second star for participating even though they came in dead last for the talent portion of the...
Read moreListen up mcdonalds ..... I frequent your location on newlondon turnpike, Coventry Rhode island very often but after my delivery order Tonite I am very much considering not to go to this location anymore and further more I'll contact the regional manager of that location . I ordered doordash at 11:15 pm or so .still open still accepting orders . The problem is the fries were way over cooked to the point where I couldn't chew them because I thought I was gonna break a few teeth .my teeth aren't the best .we had gotten 3 fries 2 large and a happy meal size .my kids fries were even hard . I had ordered for when I got home from work I would enjoy a nice unhealthy meal . Still the point is that they cooked the fries, then by the looks of them fries ,had them sit under the heat lamp for about 3 hours . I don't know last time I worked at McDonald's was in 2018 maybe that became something that your allowed to do now .last time I checked there is a time limit on how long fries can sit in the basket or under the light for . So it being 11:15 I'm sure they probably put down a basket of fries over cooked them then still sent them to the customer to finish the order . For the employees make sure to pull the fries when they beep and go off and dispose of them within the policy time frame For the leaders and managers ....get off your butt and check what your employees are doing instead of out in your car , or on your 50th smoke break of the day , or even in the back on your phone . McDonald's is a family restaurant and our family would like...
