Really great bakery, their breads are so good, but just a heads up if you want a variety dont go in the morning. I went in an hour after opening and the shelves were pretty much empty, came back an hour later and they still hadn't fully brought everything out yet. There were so many employees in the back but only one person bringing out the trays of bread. Dont say you open at 8am when you aren't ready for customers to actually buy anything
Edit: I've now visited a few more times at different times of the day. They don't seem to make the same breads every day, so if you like a particular bread you just have to hope they have it that day. They also seem to only bake in the morning and don't replenish in the afternoon, so you're stuck with whatever is left and they run out of the good ones by lunch time. I've yet to find egg tarts in the afternoon, can they not look at their metrics and make more of the popular items? And I'm wondering if they're trying to save money or the cashiers are inexperienced that they don't use the boxes when you buy a lot of goods and instead stack everything into paper bags and essentially damage the bread. The cashier literally put a pudding cup on top of all the bread in the bag today
On another note, I had to help a senior woman open the door for her as she was leaving as she struggled to push it open, even I felt it was not as easy to open when I...
Read moreOK, so everyone knows that I am the unofficial ambassador of 85D because I GO HERE SO OFTEN!! The prices are THE MOST REASONABLE and the flavors SUPER DELICIOUS ASIAN BAKERY. I can never go back to ParisB or Kamman again (sorry)!! I always take boxes to my sons' teachers and friends houses when we go visit anyone. I used to bring home boxes of 85 from LA to share so I'm so glad they've opened one in NJ near me! And I don't really understand the low star reviews because I have NEVER had issues here and I go MULTIPLE times a week for my 85 bread fix. Leon is the GREATEST and THE BEST. If you ever have issues, go talk to him and he will fix you up. He suggested I try some new breads I don't usually get and they were ON THE MONEY! The plain salted bun and the garlic buns are my NEW FAVE!! I usually go for the Ube and Taro breads and the custard ones. The mochi egg tarts are a friend fave. I cannot stop going here because I accrue points and get free drinks (my fave being the sea salt green tea!!!) and breads. So it will be my fave cafe/bakery for life. Please support them because we want them to be open7 days a week and also open more 85 locations to open in NJ/NYC! LOL!!!! If you have any problems with 85, come talk to me so we can...
Read moreI heard about this cafe via word of mouth. It's very far from where I live. My husband and I had to take a long drive and we were going to be near the café. So we took the detour and came here. Upon entering, my first impression was how brightly lit the cafe was inside. My husband and I grabbed two trays. One tray was for us, another for my brother's family. There were so many options and the prices were affordable! So affordable I wasn't even looking at the price, just the names of the breads. Every section increased my excitement. After grabbing our choices, we went to the register. Leon was at the register who my friend told me to say hi to him when we go. He was sooo sweet. We had a great chat while he rang us up. For drinks, my husband got the red grapefruit tea and I got hot vanilla latte. I love that we can customize the level of sweetness. We didn't have to wait long. In total, we spent $40 for about 12 Bakery items and two drinks. I started eating some in the car and absolutely loved it. The milk bun was so delicious! The chocolate crossiant was my second favorite. Should we drive through Morris county again, we will...
