Luen Hop Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in East Hartford

I live in Bolton, but work near this Chinese food place. I love coming here! There is a chinese restaurant within a 5 minute walk from my office, but I would much rather go here (I will never order from King's Chef on Main Street again!). I usually order the same things when I do visit, (either chicken fingers, white rice, pork fried rice, chicken/beef teriyaki sticks, and once in a while a chicken and broccoli). They always cook the chicken fingers perfectly! Nice and golden and crispy on the outside, with tender white chicken on the inside, never fatty chunks, or shriveled crunchy chicken pieces. I always tip the lady when I pick up the food, (because I tip everywhere when I pick up, and tip extra when it is deserved) and she is always very thankful! She usually comments on something I am wearing (before I give the tip), or just says that I am " a nice pretty lady", which makes me blush! 🤩 I've had to wait extra long once or twice out of 20 times, but they always try to accommodate by giving a free soda...

I've been going to this place since a kid. And over the years it's jus getting worst !! Past few months I've been watching how the lady had been over charging customers and no ones doing much about it !!! Customer service is trash. No was a can of soda is 3 dollars !! I placed a order last night which normally runs me roughly 28 dollars at this location honestly cheaper closer to my house in New britian. But I'm always in the area so I figured why not stop grab dinner on my way home. As I'm paying 1 customer is mad she's charging him 6 dollars for 2 mountin dews and 2.75 for brown rice. In which she said a dollar cause I herd her on the rice. My order went from 28 to 45 dollars not wanting to argue I paid and left without a receipt normally she would give me one this time she didn't at all. Watch your prices when ordering food they will get you every time regardless the relationships!!!!!!! Bring back the original...

I was introduced to Luen Hop by my husband, 15 years ago. Ever since, no one can compare! We are huge fans of their bones spare ribs and they do NOT go light on their portions! I used to order the combo meal but now I order the large boneless spare ribs and a quart of rice so my daughter and I can share - and we each get TWO meals out of it!

The staff are always so pleasant, and even funny! They also remember you, which is really impressive for how many people they see every day! We don't go often but when we do, they recognize us.
