China One — Restaurant in East Haven

Would give ZERO stars if Google allowed! Positively & consistently the WORST customer service experience I believe I’ve EVER had. Ordered from this place, once before, to have lunch delivered to my spouse at work. Asked for a lunch special & a side of fried shrimp that should have ran a total of no more than $15 or so, but the total came to over $26. Come to find out, he got full entree’s which was enough food to feed a family of four! Then, attempted to send him lunch today... they spent ten minutes trying to take an EASY order of chicken wings with shrimp fried rice & a side of spicy bbq spare ribs. Told me the total was over $22. I had to give them my card # twice, which I thought was sketchy. Five minutes after this, they proceeded to call me back & tell me they don’t deliver to his job (which I know to be a lie, since they actually DID before). When THAT didn’t work for them, they tried to tell me they had a new driver who didn’t know English & therefore wouldn’t be able to read the GPS. Really...??? My husband’s job location requires a special GPS application that other delivery locations in the area do not...? & they even had the nerve to ask for my Discover card, yet again, for a 3rd time as if I didn’t already know that they did not need it to cancel the transaction! But to top it all off... my spouse didn’t even get to have lunch... while working a 14 hour shift... outside... on a sweltering &...

Had my order delivered. We were in the mood For Chinese and our regular place was closed. We put a note for General Tso Chicken to be mild. When we opened the container it looked bright red and so hot that was inedible. The pork lo mein had a fishy smell and the steamed dumplings were good except for that the top of the container holding the sauce was broke and the sauce saturated the dumplings. I called No 1 and the manager called me back. I explained what happened and she said he was she was sorry and would be better next time. I asked for a credit of something for a meal we didn’t eat and costing over $50 She said she would credit me $3 !! She couldn’t do anymore. I will never go there again and am hoping now after reading the reviews that we do t get sick. Poor customer service...

Moved here in Branford 5 years ago, in that time I could find NO decent Chinese food. I didn't want to drive to downtown New Haven and try to find parking on Chapel St. so what the hell let me try the only place that I didn't try yet. China One. I ordered the General Tso's chicken combo, the menu said it cost $9.85 but they charged me $13.60, did sales tax go up and they forgot to tell me?? The pork eggroll was nothing buy cabbage and flex of pork, very chewy, had a hard time biting in to it. No flavor to it. The rice was on point and so was the chicken, the sauce was really hot and spicy tho. I never had it that hot. I'm going to try this place again just NOT ordering anything spicy. I have hope in this place!!!!...
