Arby's — Restaurant in East Hempfield Township

Stars are mostly for the always good Arby’s food and the aesthetics of the dining area itself. I do have to admit that my latest experience was a bit questionable. My activities of this particular day led me to not having dinner until much later than normal. Because of this, I thought I’d go light and go here for a small roast beef and some curly fries. I got there around 9:30 PM and while this was close to their 10 PM closing and also, while the employees weren’t rude to me, I felt things were rushed and the vibe of “we are closing” was quite evident. They didn’t even give me the option of dining. Especially with the weather that night, I would have been more inclined to eat there. It would have taken me no more than 10 minutes with what I got. If I knew this was going to be grab’n’go, I would have gone to Turkey Hill and got something cheaper. Additionally, they nearly dumped the bag of food when attempting to hand it to me and a piece of curly fries dropped. Call me crazy but I didn’t even have the bag in hand yet when this happened and with prices of food, I would rather that fry ending up in my mouth instead of a sacrificial piece on the floor. Been going here for years and never an issue until recently and will never return. Apparently the exterior makeover didn't transfer to the interior and not suprised they FAILED a recent health inspection. Lancaster Online: Arby’s No. 7006, 3005 Columbia Ave., Feb. 28. Fail. Food employee at the food preparation table placing food into their mouth with their gloved hand. Food employees involved in food preparation not wearing beard covers; prior violation Feb. 7, 2022. A pink, slimy residue on the deflector plate of the ice maker. Black grime on the bread racks. Static dust on the fan guards of the walk-in cooler. Single-service, single-use articles stored in the back directly on the floor and not 6 inches above the floor. The food facility does not have the original certificate for the certified food employee posted in public view. No sign or poster posted at the hand-wash sink in the near the drive-thru window to remind food employees to wash their hands. Employee personal jackets hanging on bread racks contacting the product. We don’t normally go to Arby’s, but we did because it was close to home and raining. We decided to go through the drive thru. After the car in front of us ordered the lights turned off on the menu. Mind you we were the last car! Instead of kindly just letting us be the last to order someone comes outside 5 minutes later to tell us they close at 8pm. For 1 online says 12am so please update it & 2 we were at the speaker a few minutes before 8pm, but in the drive thru by 7:46pm (Not our fault the line was running slow. There was a car in front waiting to order & the others were waiting for their food). It was only 8:06pm by the time we were able to leave the line. To me that was extremely rude & unprofessional. No other place had EVER done that before especially when we were there waiting before 8pm! Never again will we be going back.
