Update: nothing much has changed about my review. Love this place. It's busy so if you can't order through the toast app, you're gonna be in for a wait. Get use to it. It's delicious. Also, the focaccia has a perfect amount of rosemary. The one time it didn't was a one-off. I love the way it's made most of the time. Last 3 pictures are of "The garden" and "#1 on an everything bagel" sandwiches, hashbrowns, and tres leches cake. Can NOT recommend the tres leches cake ENOUGH. YUMMMMMMM.
This experience was divine!! You will not regret visiting this place. (Sorry for the "already eaten" photos. It smelled so good that I didn't think to get "insta-worthy" pics.) The food was ah-mazing. We didn't wait long for our food, even though it was starting to get into a rush. The focaccia and jalapeño bagel (not pictured) for our sandwiches were fantastic. The bagel had a bit of spice to it even. The focaccia could have more rosemary, but I'm a sl$t for it and I know not everyone likes it as strong as I do. The eggs, cheese, and bacon were also all perfectly done. Zero complaints. The red velvet cupcake was very yummy, a bit dense, but still moist. Not sickeningly sweet, either. Ordered a Tandy cake to go, can't comment on it yet. (Hubby loved it, update.) Then the drinks. Omg the drinks. A vanilla espresso shake, a mango smoothie, and a shamrock shake. Not pictured was a frozen hot chocolate with rainbow sprinkles. The espresso shake was perfectly coffee without being overwhelmingly sweet. The mango smoothie was perfectly sweet and incredibly thick. The shamrock shake was an exact duplicate, but better because it was mixed the entire way through. The frozen hot chocolate was delicious but not as sugary as you are use to from other places, IYKYK. It was honestly better though, just be aware of that if ordering for a smaller kiddo.
On to the staff. Amazing staff. Amazing service. They bust their tails in there. I asked a staff member working the drink counter a question and not only did they know almost all of the ingredients off the top of their head, but they also offered to make me a taste of the drink I was asking about. Talk about service!!!

Read moreI have been coming to this cafe for around 6 months now and I have never had a bad meal here. I live almost an hour away and I very much enjoy grabbing a latte and breakfast sandwich from this spot when I come up to the area. Although, there is something that has been greatly bothering me during my last couple visits. The elder lady with the glasses at the register has been providing me with extremely poor customer service even though The Grand Central Bagel Cafe “promises” to provide great customer service in their description on their website. During my past couple visits I have been observing the way this lady treats other customers vs me. I have observed that she has a positive attitude towards individuals that are around her age group….then when it comes to individuals in my age group (mid 20s), she changes her mask. When I go up to the register I do not feel welcome at all. I am treated with a negative attitude, rude responses, and just utter disrespect. She will talk over me during my order and not let me finish what I am saying all followed by her strange tension she brings to the situation. It is safe to say that this lady has made me feel extremely uncomfortable, unwelcome, unsatisfied, and definitely ruins the experience for me. I rarely leave reviews on places because I don’t have time for things like this but at the same time I really didn’t appreciate this behavior. Everyone is struggling in this life and the least everyone can do is be nice to each other ESPECIALLY if you are behind a register serving the public....
Read moreIt saddens me to be forced to give this establishment one star.. but honestly they’ve given me no choice; now mind you we’ve only recently come across GCB which is why it saddens me! I thought this would be our new go to. I just can’t get with the entitled unprofessionalism their employees seemed to be engulfed in. (1st: the construction is not only unprofessional, it’s hazardous, unsanitary and simply distasteful to be conducting construction during operating hours especially around over and near open food/drinks, 2nd. Our order was recently mixed up [NO BIG DEAL] yet it was such a hassle to receive the corrected order without unprofessional facial expressions, an overly irritated demeanor and an argumentative employee insinuating the order was correct [what happened to the customer is always right; this is “your” job there for you fix the issue and respectfully at that no questions asked] ** Now my issue truly stems from the fact that I requested my order be remade because of the mix up and upon agreeing to “do so” not only did she insult my intelligence by pretending to remake it!!
